    Hi!
So happy another wh40k game is in the works, after the recent fold of a game I have been waiting for. Being into GW since 1995 I spend most days just waiting for a wh4k mmorpg...

My nr 1 worry is that this game will not make it, like it's recently killed cousin - all in all end of 2015 is a long time, and I see a lot of people working towards a high cash burn rate.

My nr 2 worry is that the game will share the failed end of Warhammer Online WAR - a dead community leading to servers getting knocked off one by one. Instead of growing.

So I'm here hoping someone's gonna say: "Look, none of that will happen. We're gonna go the premium+free2play model and we're gona make this cash positive fast, thus keeping the game alive".

    :)
    Anyway:

    Welcome to the forums!

    No need to worry!

No need to worry! The plans as it stands is that its going to be one "Mega Server" (its actually going to be one "server" which will be made up of lots of other servers)
You can read more about that here: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/about-pikko-server-technology.1783/

The problem I found with Warhammer Online was that they had a subscription based and when people started to leave because of horrible bugs, No one was really filling that void of the people lost because who would want to play on a Dead Buggy game?
Plus I think they pretty much wanted to kill it off, Earlier this year they put out a notice saying they are no longer accepted something like 6months advance payment? so they knew then that the game wouldn't be alive in 6Months and still kept it as a subscription!

None of that is going to happen! :p ....I hope

You can find out more about the game from the "Talk to the Development Team" section

The Dev's are pretty active which is good, You may just want to read back on different threads before posting a new one since they have already answered a lot of Questions.

    Once again,
    Welcome to the forums! :)

The best thing we can do is continue to be excited about the game and offer our support to the Devs and keep this thing rolling. Welcome to the front.....now go kill something! ;)

Welcome! I have a good feeling that this one will make it, given the amount of progress the devs have already seemed to make. So every reason to be positive.

And I played Warhammer Online - I really loved it actually, the quest lines were incredibly creative, some very original classes, a lot of great humor... but I think they missed some critical aspects of an MMO. They lacked community support - there just wasn't much to do together after you go through some of the content (not a problem in a game like this where every action will have an impact and wars can really be won / lost), and while the PvE was great it was so spread out... you were just playing alone a lot of the time - especially once everyone rushed to the top tier and stayed there. (again not a problem in a game where there is no top tier). So you either missed a lot of the awesome content to get to where people actually hung out, or you played solo - which is fine but many of the quests couldn't be soloed. Mostly though it was the players that were a problem... we had to literally trick the Order into battle. I remember one time we were so determined to kill them that we actually all hid behind trees near their entrance into a zone, waited for them to get far enough down the road that they couldn't run back, and then finally rushed them - just to get a good fight in. And we did this even though we were outnumbered! I don't think that will be an issue here where objectives will actually count in real time. Still, it was a great game that I have fond memories of, but it is a very different scope from this one as far as I can tell

Yea, having a quick look I can see that. "Listen to the voice of your customers and keep correcting your product", as the Nail It Scale It philosophy goes :) Seems like someone onboard understands that.

lmao, I'm THAT old now? (28) I bet there is loads of 40 year olds on this, like on any warhammer community

    1. 100% right. The content, the graphics, the gameplay were 10/10. Even with the buggy+laggy sieges the game was excellent. But. they. did. not. support. it. I remember people on forums going "do this and that" and Mythic went and did something different. And everyone's like "wtf??".
    2. One thing that any wh game can expect is a massive + growing community following. I know people who paid the full price for WAR or for WH4k Space Marine just to see if it's any good. These are Clients! Look at the LOL community. They have lore there which is like 1% of the GW lore.
    3. Also the community can be the problem. Toxic behaviours is standard these days with retarded 12 year olds getting online :) Look at LOL again. Or CounterStrike during the course of it's lifetime (the community dramatically declined with lower age users going online).
So they should make it 18+ from the start (jk!).

    See you guys around,

Well Met and Welcome to the forums. I do not think we will face the same issues given the company in charge of making it.

Welcome newcomer. They will not let this game fail because it will be their heads. The Ordos has taken great interest in this endeavor.
