  1. Dildo of healing.
This isn't going away any time soon.

I don't like the bolter recoil. I can't see a space marine letting that thing vibrate upwards.
  2. Generally Im really excited about how the movement and cover system is going. Im really happy to see the climb mechanic being put in so well good job guys.

The only real issue that Im seeing is the healing mechanic. I was kind of imagining having to stab a friendly with a needle. I would like to even see the healing be grim dark instead of fantasy fluff. Let me jump onto a downed chapter brother and stab him in the heart with an 8 inch needle...saving his life.

I can't stress this enough, in SPADES. First time I got to use it was in Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and it makes things SOOO much better.

Yea, vaulting needs to not be auto. If the cover system remains it should be a toggle and or/have a toggle to aggressively slide into cover

The way healing is done needs some work. Running over to bop team mates seems archaic and not fitting to most of the 40k classes (though an Ork slapping someone with something to "heal" them might be hilarious if done right :p GIT 'N DERE YA GROT!!! /SMASH +HP +HP)

Maybe make it short range in a circle around the healer character like maybe the Marine recites an oath or litany or something and it transfers strength to a friendly for example (a really loose example.) Could be in addition to having to touch the other character depending on the type of attention they need?

Wonder if it's a visual aid to assist in immersion of the game itself, but I can understand if the recoil shouldn't be that much. This also might be a gamism to assist in balancing (for aim.)

He's holding a box fed HB, so yeah, I don't think that thing will weigh him down much.

They said they planned to have different sprint speed for different weapons, right?

Camera switch? Post launch, maybe o_O. But for a person who is right handed, this doesn't bother me, I hardly use this feature. It's more of a convenient thing than a gameplay thing. Adjusting camera view helps too, it doesn't have to be a camera switch.

Completely tutorial thing, an option to turn it off is fine enough.

Sniping is not emphasized in EC, not at launch any way, the only thing can be used to snipe at the moment is Lascannon, and that thing will definitely receive a lot of nerf hammer strikes in the future. And it's about you making a choice, you'll never be safe from snipers, bracing or not. But if there is none, then a Havoc behind cover will be free to break havoc among his enemies all day long.

What do you mean by "contextual" and "automatic"? The current cover system is a non-sticky system, as opposed to a sticky one like in Gear of Wars.

This was addressed in the twitch. And FYI, choosing to vault or not to vault is a PITA, that's what gets you killed in Third Person Shooter. I know because I've experienced it, countless times.

This, OH MY THRONE, and you call yourself a W40K fan? Have you heard of a "healing gun" or a "healing grenade" in W40K? Other points I can partly agree with, but this is just, well, HERETIC. Having a Apothecary healing other SMs on the battlefield is lore-breaking enough, and now you want a "healing gun"? Go stand in the corner please.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a first reaction the contextual cover/vaulting system got from me. I can totally see myself running towards cover and nimbly vaulting over it in typical Eldar fashion.

Not being able to Switch Camera View would most likely be a deal breaker for me if it's not implemented into the game by launch, and I would probably ask for a refund. As I know from past experience that it's very frustrating not having this ability. (Does anybody here actually know when the cut off date for asking for a refund is?) o_O
That's very interesting. I didn't realise that there wouldn't be any Sniper Weapons in this game by launch. That means a rather large amount of players who love playing Sniper won't be interested in this game because of this fact. But I'm not too bothered by it as I very rarely snipe in MMO Shooters, due to my lag.
By contextual I meant that we have a choice whether to "use" the cover when we are next to it, rather than automatically being stuck to it like in Gears of War.

Are you sure that when we choose to "use" the contextual cover system it won't stick us to the cover? I think I remember hearing or reading somewhere that it was supposed to stick us to the cover...
I'd be interested to know what MMOTPS games that you've played with automatic vaulting, as I can't recall ever having played a MMOTPS with this mechanic. And can see it being a real PITA when I sprint for cover and to my horror find myself accidentally vaulting over it automatically, which would get me killed a lot.
lol. Yeah I know it sounds bad. But in terms of gameplay it's much more preferable to have an AOE heal effect, instead of incessantly yelling at people to stop moving so that you can tap them with your "Dildo of healing".

And there's already a ton of non-Lore friendly gameplay mechanics in this game, so I don't see people getting too upset over the devs making it easier for us to heal others. :)

well strictly speaking a combat medic doesnt heal you, they stabilise you and then you get transported to a facility where the actual healing takes place ..

this holds true in WH40K as well,

obviously though the whole "healing" on the battlefield thing has been added as a part of the gameplay > lore arguement

Most SMs can heal themselves on the battlefield, their bodies have self healing mechanism. Also, if a wound is severe enough to make a SM unable to fight, it will take much more than just an injection from Narthecium to bring him back up again. If a SM needs his brother Apothecary to tend to him, he's as good as out for the rest of the operation/campaign.

Depends, you have to try the game out first. If the view gives you motion sickness/hard time, then ask for a refund.

Only people who play game for a good K/D ratio enjoys sniping, I find it lazy and cowardice. Also, you'll be able to "snipe" to a small degree, but there won't be any dedicated sniper rifle at launch. Any FYI, there are more people who hate "snipers" than enjoy them.

You need to watch the stream, because you clearly didn't. You'll see how cover works when you watch it. It's not like in Gear of Wars, that's all I can tell you. Also, you don't automatically stick to cover in Gear of Wars, you're mistaken.

I've played a lot with toggle vaulting, and it's very annoying. I did play some with automatic vaulting, just can't recall what game. Anywho, I must say I enjoy automatic vaulting more, it's smoother and more immersive. Also, the same problem happens with toggle vaulting, because you have to get into cover before you vault, which was the reason I got killed in Gear of War.

There is no foundation in lore to support "healing gun", and EC is designed with tactical combat in mind, having AOE healing will make things so much easier for you. Also, you don't have to fear that people will run away, because as long as they know how the system works, they will automatically stand till if they want you to heal them.
