- Currently, the Devastator runs too fast. We need the same animation as in Space Marines. Massif, a little slow. With the ability to tap the ground and shake the earth and make area damage ! - Cover syteme is cool (why not). - Vault & Climb are cool too (It's funny, I saw exactly the same movements in another game). I think the Davastator dies too easily now and inefficient (But hey, alpha).
I hope they won't forget to implement the shoot-around-corners mechanic for the high cover. That would probably be the most used variation of the system.
- Cover system looks good. - The Bolter running animation I'm not so keen on. I imagined that the marine would hold the bolter in both hands and would press it against his chest; but it's better than before and I don't want the team to lose to much time on this. The Apo going to a downed marin and sticking his thing into him is a dead giveaway, maybe a little icon would be enough. - climbing/vault looks good. [Bonus]: *cought* Freaking awsome chaos action! and Brent... Brent is like: "Die heretic die!" CSM war veteran with a Knife!!!: "I think not!" *Splat!* It's still a little dark but we have to wait till they implement flashlights I guess
Going to put my basic observations here with a bit of a preface. I haven't watched all the twitches so I might have missed them saying certain things being worked on etc, so for all intents and purposes I understand and assume most things are temporary at this stage of the game. Twitch 5/22/15 Feedback Slow down bolter fire, make a tad more damaging/weighty? Might be an audio issue where it doesn't sound powerful? Town down the tracer effect UI is unfinished which is understandable, stamina gauge near reticule needs to be less conspicuous Running animation needs a lot of work, doesn't feel like you're watching a very heavy space marine running. Space Marine did this pretty well though it felt a bit clunky control wise when you'd stop from a run/etc. Field of view when running got screwy at times, could just be camera tweaking/etc Marines look pretty decent at this time proportion wise, good to see things moving along (caveat, hard to see Glare on Lascanon is kind of neat but it's a bit overbearing when looking at it, and the sound effect feels slightly off. Healing graphic is also a bit too much. Would prefer if this was more a very mist like or translucent swirl, or maybe something a bit more....lore fitting? (I'm unsure what that could be.) Again I'll state, I understand some of these things have placeholders/etc but these are mostly my main concerns.
I voted "No I don't like". Because I generally can't see myself using these Cover and Climb Systems very often. And would rather have had the very significant amount of resources being put into these systems put into more important things elsewhere instead. Like the ability to Switch Camera Sides during battle, which is absolutely essential for any MMOTPS. Cover I really don't see why we need a UI reminder to tell us when to Crouch behind cover.... And using cover to brace your weapon on as a Devastator will just make you an easy target for Snipers. But I'm very glad that the Cover System is going to be contextual based, as it would have been really annoying if it was automatic. Vaulting I'm worried about the Auto Vaulting when sprinting, and I don't see any reason for this mechanic. It should be totally contextual based, where the players choose whether to vault or not. Or else we will probably see a lot of people accidentally Auto Vaulting off high buildings and falling to their deaths. Healing I can't see myself or many others playing as a "Healer" at all in this game. It looks like it's going to be an extremely frustrating experience having to run around after team mates and yelling at them to "Stand the F#*K Still!!!" so that you can Hit Them With Your Rhythm Stick. Healing really needs to be an AOE or "gun" system like in Planetside 2. Overall, most of this stuff I've mentioned above looks like a waste of time and resources, IMHO. But maybe I just need to see what it's actually like in-game, so that I can have a much better idea how useful these mechanics actually are.... EDIT: Sprinting Camera View while Sprinting is far too low and needs to be a lot higher.
