Weapons specific executions

You mean "Knife on kife regret" here I think. :p I'm a HEMA swordsman, so that's another reason the sword animations hurt me.

Engaging in real life combat is never something you should "want" to do, regret is implied. I think it's great that weapon based martial arts are still alive and well in this day and age. Keep up the training!

I feel like each race should have executions of differing speeds

Space Marines are as efficient as possible, so their executions are fastest

Eldar are fast but arrogant, so they come next and make up for the speed loss with the changing positions aspect of executing

Orks are brutal and violent but have a short attention span, so they would spend some time enjoying their kill before moving on

Chaos Space Marines are full of hatred for their enemies and would spend time torturing their foe before allowing them to die (Spill more blood for Khorne, inflict pain for Nurgle, take pleasure at the exquisite pain you are inflicting for Slaanesh, Tzeentch is just random)

Havoc: Smashing the downed´s skull with the Heavy bolter/Plasma gun/Las cannon´s riflebut, ofc while screaming prayers to Khorne. I would soooo pay for this execution.
  5. I definitely am impressed that the whole incapacitation/reviving/execution thing actually works and seems fitting and ends up being a plus for the game play. More customized animations would be nice, but I'm very happy with what I'm seeing now.

I think a lot of people are overlooking that executions should be cancelable.

I also think that executions should have a small buff (class specific or not)

Now that that's out of the way:

    Space Marines:

    Chainsword:
    • Rev Stab into the neck
    • 2 diagonal rev cuts across the chest in the shape of an X
    • Overhead rev cut into the head
    • Diagonal rev cut from shoulder to opposite knee
    • Stab into chest then rev
    • From behind holding head and revving sword into neck (like a chokehold)
    • Slow revving cut across body
    • Chainsword held unto stomach and revved

    Powersword:
    • Stab and have enemy player slide off of blade
    • Upwards slash from crotch to head
    • Stab into neck
    • Overhead into head
    • Horizontal slash across neck
    • Stab into body and kick enemy off blade
    • Horizontal cut from shoulder to center of body
    • Stab into armpit with sword sticking out of opposite shoulder

    Poweraxe:
    • Swing into chest and kick enemy off blade
    • Overhead into head and wiggle axe out
    • Diagonal into neck
    • Overhead into chest, lift axe, enemy player is stuck on axe and falls off
    • Horizontal swing into side of chest then pirouette spin into opposite side of chest
    • Overhead swing from head to chest then enemy is kicked

    Powerfist:
    • Lift enemy by the head and crush it
    • Heavy punch into chest
    • Lift enemy by head and ground slam
    • Grab enemy head and twist head backwards
    • Punch through chest
    • Grab enemies head and apply thumb to chin which breaks neck
    • Grab enemy across chest and contract power fist
  7. What weapon style do you practice with? I've trained with both Florentine and Hand and a Half Swords. Also, I'm with you, the weapon animations are extremely cringeworthy. There's entirely too many spins and wannabe cinematic movements in the weapon animations. All kinds of things that would just get you killed right away in a real fight.

It's a spectacle show for a spectacle game using spectacle lore.

Don't cry ignorance when this is painfully obvious.

And just to also point out the obvious, know what else would get you killed in a fight? Bringing a knife to a gunfight.

If you wanted sword realism you should have kickstarted clang or play Roses or something.
  9. You know what's funny about this statement? I've actually brought my Zweihander Boffer that I practice HEMA with into a Fallout LAARP, and killed 4 bandits with it. I can pretty safely say that I've brought a knife to a gunfight, and won. The 24-foot rule is a real bitch.

Do you mean the 21-foot rule? That applies to the ability of a police officer to comprehend that he's being attacked with a weapon and to react which involves unholstering his sidearm to physically stop a target, you'll still get shot, and that's not taking into account the caliber of the round, where it landed, as well as the ability of both the attacker and the defender.

Either way the defender has all the advantages and you'll still get shot.

Now let's take into account that it's a war, so people won't holster their weapons.

I mean there's a reason why the sword became obsolete.
