Are we going to be seeing the classic "Tear dot" tracer or are we going the way of Planetside 2 and going for the laser streak?

(I personally would like to see the tear dots)

Tears for normal weapons, but beams for Lascannons/Brightlances surely.

From the Dec 19th Twitch, tracers effects were way to much IMO. Not only is it not proper for a Bolter to look more like a Lasrifle firing, it's going to totally destroy frame rates once we start seeing larger battles.

Hopefully we will see a shift to Bolters, Heavy Bolters, Autocannons with tear type tracers in the future. Preferrably only seeing a tracer every 3rd or 5th round.

I'm hoping we see very few tracers, they are just really annoying, especially in 3rd person shooters.
The only tracers I'd ever see should be laz-based weaponry and Eldar weapons.

i don't think that the tracers would bring anything to the game. of course the laz weapons, they would have the lazer line but i think unless its a plasma or laz weapon too many light effects on the projectiles would detract from gameplay

Bolters are supposed to be firing rocket propelled shells right? It makes perfect sense to have the tracers visible, so long as they include an option do disable them if they end up costing too many resources there is no legit reason not to have them. Plus its nice to be able to tell what is firing at you and from where.

I would say definite use of tracers for all ork hard round weapons since we all know they are a fan of anything flashy and boomy. 20/80 ratio for the CSM/SM since most of their weapons have actual tracers fitted into their magazines to increase accuracy at long ranges despite the fact you can see the contrails of their ammunition. Eldar should be optional since they use shurikens and laser beamed, last time I checked the shuriken doesn't leave anything except a faint glimmer when reflected on.

Tracers aren't something that makes or breaks the game if it is/n't there and should be something implemented after the final project is released as a polisher.

givin that bolt weapons are rocket powered, i am 100% sure atleast bolt weapons shoot tracer rounds, though i am not sure about other weapons, (other than las'n plasma ofcouse) they write the ironsight shoota has tracer tech

You can never have too much Dakka! Not even when there is so much dakka that ppl i shoot crash their game and their computer melts
