it says they are different, but it also says they are the same, and you all wonder how someone could get confused? lol PB even said:You where among the first to sign up for a founders pack, no matter which one, you will be the first ones to be selected for pre-alpha and maybe alpha tests (depending when they are ofc) So where are the waves if it is a module? And more importantly why is all of the staff telling everyone the first "module" doesn't release until January if infact the pre-alpha is a module and not a pre-launch? Again not trying to be a dick and dissuade the general populace from joining EC as that's their prerogative and my experience doesn't have to be everyone's experience but looking at what I'm saying I don't see how you can't see how it could be frustrating trying to figure out when you actually get to play with the game! I first expected to play the game on the 25th, I thought that would happen b/c I misread the newsletter when it stated preparations commence June 25th, after reading the FAQ before purchasing I thought I would have access in Fall, but I had waited a day after Wednesday (as I'm in school from 7am -10 pm) to buy the pack, now I'm seeing that's not a module but actually an alpha in which its a first come first serve basis so my having to wait will probably count me out. Hence the confusion and frustration. . . only to find out now I really won't be playing the until Mar 2015. . . .
The dates are not set in stone as stated in the FAQ, it's probably just confusion on their part or miscommunication? All we can do is see how it all plays out fall of this year/next year. I'll keep you posted on how it plays out since you're getting a refund, if you like? Also I apologies if I offended you from the previous posts.
1. I never stated I thought what you thought. The first 3 sentences were aimed at you, the 2nd paragraph was my personal interpretation I was getting from posts all over the forum. Apologies if you thought it was aimed at you personally. 2. It is talking about the benefits of founders in general, it's there for completion-sake. Is that part slightly misplaced, probably. Does it state what Modules are beforehand, yes. Also, ofcourse is Alpha pre-launch, otherwise it wouldn't be Alpha. Launch-date is when the game is released and when founders has already ended. 3. You started by saying I'm raging and tried to belittle me. If you expect me to not point that out and just keep quiet, I won't. Also Early Access and Pre-alpha BOTH take place before launch. It's like saying: before summer, during spring. 2 words, similar meaning.
I'll just repost what I did above since I edited the last part in afterward in response to yours: So where are the waves if it is a module? And more importantly why is all of the staff telling everyone the first "module" doesn't release until January if infact the pre-alpha is a module and not a pre-launch? Again not trying to be a dick and dissuade the general populace from joining EC as that's their prerogative and my experience doesn't have to be everyone's experience but looking at what I'm saying I don't see how you can't see how it could be frustrating trying to figure out when you actually get to play with the game! Also I have to add that the whole "Module" dilemma increases when you add the fact that each module is supposed to last until launch, but how do you do that when the "PRE-ALPHA" which is apparently a module is on a first come first serve basis. Additionally PB also stated that the first 500 were guaranteed and the next 500 would be subject to technical needs, does that mean that those first 1000 would have PRE-ALPHA access indefinitely or would they only last a week or so?
I'll try to answer your questions as precise as possible in order you asked them (but I'm getting tired so bear with me, if I interpeted wrong) Modules are released in waves, higher value packages get the first wave, lowest value get the third wave. I don't think they said pre-alpha is the same as Modules. I know it's there in the FAQ with the schedule, but as I said, I think it's there to give the full schedule (modules and alpha/beta) and maybe should have been seperated properly from the Module section. Also I'm not sure if you fully understand what Modules are (sorry if you do) Modules are simple game-scenes like, shooting ranges, arena's, etc. They show a simple aspect of the game. So the PvP pre-alpha (actual game) is not decided by how much you paid, but first come-first serve. The Modules are. I could understand if you just found out about founders and didn't watch too much of the interviews etc. it could indeed be a little annoying to go through the entire FAQ (maybe even multiple times to get a proper idea what exactly you are getting). It's probably even worse if you heard there is limited access and you want to be the one of the first to play the game, exitement I get it. Now I will probably sound like a douchebag for saying this but I'm not trying to offend you, so apologies and try to get what I'm trying to say. Founders aren't meant for just everybody, also it's not like Early-Access on steam (which is most of the time an excuse for a buggy releases anyways). I'm not saying you are not worthy, but if you didn't know that much about the game, you shouldn't be giving it money anyways (it's not worthy of YOUR money yet). Founders is for people who believe in a project, are heavily invested/interested but not expect instant access to a product they can consume. I did a lot of research beforehand to decide if I would buy this or not. So to me the FAQ was pretty clear, because I knew how the Modules, Alpha etc are going to work. As you said, for someone who just heard of this, it might be a lot to take in one go (especially if you want to be one of the first). But that doesn't mean it was trying to mislead people or something like that. Also, don't worry that only people who bought on the first day will be able to play alpha/beta, there will be plenty of tests and the game need to test large numbers. So I'm quite sure you'll probably still be able to play something at the end of 2014, beginning 2015 if you buy it this month. *Looks up at wall of text... well f*** Sorry that I typed so much, I want to be as clear as possible in my thoughts so I don't have to derail that much anymore TL, DR: -modules are accessible by value of founder -alpha/beta is accesible by date of founder -founder is not early-access on steam and need some proper thoughts/concerns before even considering buying -every founder will play something before Final Release
I wrote a long post in response but deleted it, no point in getting into this any further. I'll get my money back and wait until BE proves they care about everyone and not just he who spends the most $$. I mean they made it pretty clear when the title they gave Warrior Package is "menial" which by definition means "lowly and sometimes degrading," lol that makes me feel loved. . .haha, at least subordinate is kind of respectful, lol
Is there an ETA on the availability of those extra payment options, especially for Euro users? I'd really like to give you my money you know...
