The original Fire Hawks numbered 200 surviving Battle-Brothers. All of the Chapter's gene-seed had been lost, all of its Initiates killed, and most of the Chapter's officers were gone. None of the Chapter's human serfs had survived at all. To make matters worse, the brethren had been mutated by their intense, unshielded exposure to the Warp. This change became more obvious over the next few solar months. The surviving Fire Hawks' skins began to blacken and blister, and their flesh began to fester and putrefy. Slowly they began to die. Within solar days of the transition into normal space it became obvious that the Chapter had been exposed to some form of dangerous Warp mutation or disease. It took many years to navigate a way back within the borders of the Imperium, during which time almost half the surviving brethren succumbed to the malady. Those who remained were no longer sane. Pain and despair had driven even their hardened minds beyond the point of rationality. Doomed to agonising deaths, they gradually became obsessed with their fate. Now they only wanted to die. But they were still Space Marines, still loyal to the Emperor and Mankind. They were determined that they would die only for a purpose. http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Legion_of_the_Damned
so the source is a wiki? and the source of the wiki? the legion of the damned exist before the fire hawks. The last codex: not a word about the number and the fire hawks are only some of the space marine that have the same fate.
Read Codex: Legion of the Damned if you get a chance. One of the best. But nothing is conclusive there either. 1d4chan has some info, some of the gist of where GW are going with them. Whether the sub-200 estimate for Firehawks is accurate it doesn't really matter anyway for EC's Hero Class purposes primarily because there surely can't be more than a few Master of Relics' around the 5 SM factions either. LoD is actually a smaller stretch than having 20 BA MoRs showing up en masse. Especially when you consider the LoD are now Warp-bound entities, similar to an IoM Daemon I guess (according to the Eldar in the BL Codex), they aren't subject to realities of time in the newer fluff, they are Schrödinger's Marines. Miiiind freak But discussing numbers, I mean we're going to potentially have pre-HH Legion-strength UMs and DAs
Dear Gridgusher! Both of the link that I linked before had the source at the end, with the exact page. Thank you. Best regards, Wanderer.
From that post you drew that conclusion and skipped over the word 'potentially'. Hopscotch of the mind And DA's were between 100-150k strong if I recall soooo ... No. Hyperbole
And I thought the largest legions were 10+k strong with only 100-500 per company which would later become chapters of 100-500 SMs? And I also thought that UM's were the largest Legion since they had all of Ultrimar to draw initiates from and had the two unnamed/unremembered legions combined into them as opposed to DA's which was just Caliban before it got turned to space dust?
They thank us for our business? I have no issue with this. Better then most game companies do. This has nothing to with whether the game is funded. they have enough to make it to release without the founders program, they did one because we asked them to. i I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're saying about release. I suppose I'm just not worried about the alpha. So few people will be invited that I don't expect to make it, and I don't see it as relevent. quality control thing. Whoever is in it is working to make the game better. It's work. Fun work, that you do for free, but work none the less. And with the extra points, every pack gets points NOW. But watch and mark my words, at release, you will buy the game and it will come with no points. That is a bonus for the founders alone. And the space in is there for a reason. tHat reason is to keep people's mind on the game. It's not meant to be played continuously everyday. they just want to keep our appetite wetted. let's face it, gamers are a little add. IIt's meant to keep us excited and give us a taste, nothing more.
most legions were 80-100k if I recall. smurfs had the most with more then 150k. we can Definitly expect more then the codex 1000 though, which is lore bending for everyone but the wolves. I'll just be pretending they're successors lol
