Warparty Discussion

    Alright so lets go through this.
    Currently you can have a max of 5 people per warparty, I think it should be 16 or even the full 32. (I don't know what's planned in the future.)

    Being able to exit the match que and keep your warparty would be really cool.

    Being able to add people who are in your warparty to your steam friends would be cool.

    Having steam friends who own EC listed at the top of the steam friends list would be nice.

    I think that's it, it is nice to have them in though, just needs some lovin.

    One of the devs has said 5 man warparties are for testing purposes. They will gradually up it to higher amounts as the testing goes on, for the first point. Not sure where they stand on the rest.

    War parties are too small but I understand they are likely to change in the future. It would be nice to still be able to join in on my friends game because as it is now it's difficult to get in if the party is full.

  7. I really think it's awesome that Warparties are live!


    The Warparty(WP) needs to be an entity all in itself. A player while being a part of a Warparty, while out of game should be able to:

    1. Shop at the store while in a WP waiting in a que
    2. Mess with their loadouts while in a WP while waiting in a que
    3. Organize their Warparty pre match, prior to queing, assigning 5 man teams per 10 man squad, assigning weapons, classes, etc. This is why players need to be able to adjust their loadouts while in a WP.
    4. Be able to see the status of thier Warparty via "one touch" access from any screen(from the Store, from their loadouts)
    5. Be able to see if they were kicked, disconnected, or if the Warparty is disbanded
    6. Squad Leader should be able to invite players from his/her loadout screen, from the store, etc.
    7. Backing out to the main menu should NOT remove you from your Warparty, again the WP should be a persistent thing.
    8. Players out of game should be able to join on their friends or guild's Warparty in a game that's already ongoing if there are slots available, without squad leader invite.
    9. The Warparty should load into game as it's organized pre match. Players in a Warparty shouldn't be tossed into 5 different squads and have to spend the first two to three minutes of the match organizing thier 5 man, 10 man, 20 man, 30 man Warparty
    10. Players need to know what's going on while they're qued and messing around in the store or with loadouts. Players should see a "you party was qued for XXX", "You have been moved to Squad X", "your WP has disconnected from the que".
    11. The Warband leader should be able to drop everyone's que, add a new player and reque with very few steps and should be able to do this easily and quickly.
    12. If the Warband leader crashes his/her spot in that match should be saved for X amount of minutes. Two minutes seems fair. If anybody crashes thier spot in thier Warband should be saved for 2 minutes.
    13. Players should have to choose to leave their Warparty. Currently if you back out to the main menu you leave your WP with no notification or warning!



    Also a "pre match" set up time should be the norm. The match becomes available, Warparties start loading in.

    1. Everyone organizes their squads, ideally squads load in directly as they were formed PRE MATCH.
    2. The Warlord forms his retinue, assigning Hero/Elite roles to his HQ players.
    3. Players requisition their Hero/Elites.
    4. The match does not start UNTIL TEAMS ARE EVEN.
    5. The Warlord briefs his forces, assigns any additional special gear and the Warlord activates a "ready up". If both Warlords "ready up" prior to the designated "Pre Match set up time" and if the teams are even the match can start early.
    6. The match does not start UNTIL TEAMS ARE EVEN.

    Last night, when we finally had a band in WP (search names in steam, etc.) and after waiting a long time because of the search for a match, I was ejected from the server ... :eek:
    And even shots of the WP. Surely the server, or the match was full.
    Currently, we spend more time creating a WP and wait for a match, that really participate in a match.

    warparty will be capable of have 30 players.

    no 16 or 32, but 15 or 30 yes.

    why? because squad can be max 10 people.

    now maps have different numbers of players based on the size of the map: so warparty will be capable of join only maps compatible with their side.

    for example a 15 or less warparty can join all matches, a 30 warparty can only join a fortess map.

    the problem is the queue: a 30 war party must wait for 30 people on the enemy side.

    @NoahWard The main problem for me is filtering of my steam friend list. Can you implement some filtering or display only EC online players?

    By the way great job. I have been waiting for warparties)))
