Butts whisper to me from the warp, the warlock reveal commeth... Everyone put on your Ghost Helms, Runes of Farseeing, and settle onto your wraithbone divan of armchair developing. Let us spew conjecture about what the first two warlock powers will be. I speculify 1 heal and either 1 Direct Damage or Ally Enhancement power: Heal: Either a slow or weak AOE Heal over time or a single target but quicker tick Heal over time. Long range. Direct Damage [Witchfire] Mediocre damage, medium or short range. Wargear perhaps will modify to become a DoT and jump to an additional target should the first target die from witchfire or while afflicted by witchfire. Enhancement: [Protect] Moderate increase to single allies toughness or armor for 10-15 seconds. (Hopefully armor, cause our health is weaksauce out the gate) [Quicken] Massive increase to single ally speed for brief amount of time or moderate increase for long amount of time. [Empower] Moderate increase to single ally melee damage for a brief amount of time. What do you space elfs think?
I'd rather see the banshee this twitch stream, but that would be cool in terms of mechanics. We would need have some cooldown on those spells, otherwise, you just spam it on a squad and ROCK THE HELL OUT OF THE ENNEMY, then you're useless... until resupply... which is dumb.
Were they not holding off on the Warlock until they got UE 4.11 integrated so they could do the robe justice? But anyway, your thoughts are valid, though they cover a pretty broad spectrum of abilities.
I shuddered just reading this. I reaalllllllllllllllyy hope he isn't channel based. I do like these abilities though.
I hope they use the warlock to showcase a flame template weapon. I don't remember which edition had it, but I remember getting a lot of mileage with it. Otherwise, I'd like to see a passive buff to defense (caster centric AOE) or an actual debuff rather then the DOT that chaos has. It is fairly dissapointing that CSM and LSM handle almost identically save for the utterly disappointing sorcerer, the warlock is bE's chance to show how the races will distinguish themselves.
Eldrich Bolt + Restoration should be fine. With regard to channel spell like CSM has I would not see that in Eldar. Eldar are master psykers and dont require such silly technique as line of sight to cast a spell Take that into consideration.
To be fair though, they have a good reason to be very similar. They are basically the same, just one has a different outlook to the other. Even the Sorcerers are still technically Space Marines.
They are still space marines, but non conformist. Chaos should have strength in that variability rather than the rigid addherance that drove them from the emperor.
