Oh the social back lash a relationship between a dwarf and high elf would cause. Seriously that is reason for both of their families to disown them and cast them out of their societies. They would have fine lives in the empire though in fantasy it is actually not that bad of a place to live they are very accepting and tolerant so long as you don't worship chaos. And yes I had so say all of that I am that much of a lore nut for fantasy.
