fine. I concede to the fact of regular guardsmen recruits. But like I said, she is a Commissar's daughter. (is it just me or is this getting out of hand?)
I didn't mean to seem hostile, though I am a bit of a dick (I am a Chaos Sorcerer afterall) but the point I was trying to make is that good writers don't overuse plot-armor and women's fate in the grimdark setting can be as dismal as any of their male counterparts. The other guy's Mary Sue comment was of a similar nature, just without support. However, yes they can have roles significant to the plot, I rather liked the Interrogator in Lord of the Night.
I love that book! I've only read two novels from 40k: Lord of Night and Deus Encarmine. The Lord of Night is a great read. I liked that Zso's claws were retractable and that he had a sonic amplifier. Truly a Night Lord
Well if you're going to read more I'd recommend the ones I listed, A Thousand Sons, Storm of Iron, and the Word Bearer Trilogy, they're rather well written.
Reminded me of this... I also found this and thought it'd be appropriate. http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/711688-warhammer-40000
