Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade Discounts Its Founder Packs

  1. That game

You're missing a key detail. By buying early, you got you place in the first come first serve line.
  2. I'd gladly take my 25% back and not be in first wave. They're only a short amount of time apart. And iirc, the early access is based upon which founder pack you have. If you have the most expensive, you get in first wave.
  3. We need a Solution were they can make money, and we don't feel screwed.

I think it the logical thing is, that if you buy earlyer you have SOME kind of advantage compared to buying it later on a Sale. Be it that you can play it earlyer, or some exclusives that aren't exactly worth the bonus cost.

So the Solution is that they give us something that doesn't make us spent less money in the future , so for example something that isn't even available later in the store (not even something like it, because:). That way, we will still spent the same amount in the future, but still have more stuff.
Also it should be purely cosmetic, to be in line with the new direction.

Hmm. My first Idea would be... Actually because we don't know that much about customization and loadouts yet, I can't come up with genius things. If someone got something, speak up :D I'll hopefully get a great Idea later.

  4. I would be perfectly happy with some cosmetics :) Something to justify my extra £30.98 ish (I think that's it). Perhaps some old versions of power armour for CSM and SM, Ullanor armour scraps for Orks and some sort of destroyed craftworld left over thing for eldar? Something old, because we're old backers :p

The game hasn't launched and no actual rewards have been given to players yet for them to enjoy between the time they founded the game and now when the sale launched.

I bought the Sergeant Pack when the founder program launched at 85$, which is 42$ more than the Warrior pack. Nothing has been made available to me to enjoy between the time I founded and now, so everything I paid for is for the future. And yet right now if I had bought the Warrior pack for 42$ and upgraded today to the Sergeant Pack for 32$ it would come out to 74$.

It's cheaper to pledge now than it was when the founder program launched. How could they possibly think this was a good idea? I was literally penalised for trusting BE and putting so much money early on when the game's quality was more uncertain than now. Had I only gotten the Warrior pack it would have costed me less to be at the exact same point I am at now due to this sale. I don't get the logic in this ill timed sale for founders who got the Sergeant Pack or above.

  6. Pretty much this is the problem. I'll leave it 24 hours for a response from bE about our concerns, hopefully they'll have something. If not, I think the best option would be to get a full refund then just re-buy for the 25% less.

  7. The Copper Weapons and referral bonus should have been already taken down. Copper weapons were the first form of compensation.

I'm happy to see Miguel addressing people's concerns, and considering compensation for future promotions that benefit early customer loyalty.

And finally, for the people wanting refunds and really making a massive deal out of this... I know this hurts, I know it shouldn't have happened, but come on now... It's 20 bucks. Not a massive amount of money. And I really think if $20 really matters so much to you, then you wouldn't have chosen to spend $120 on a game in the first place.

I upgraded to the Dawn pack myself after buying the SM and Eldar one specifically before. Not a big deal. The way I see it. I still got the points for the purchase and now I got even more points for when the game comes out. As far as the Captain and Sarg packs I purchased. I just want the game to be good. If that little bit helps them and this sale brings more funding to them. I am all for them to have a sale.

Seriously think if you play the table top. This is a cheap escape anyway ;)

I am very unhappy about this. I have bought a Captain pack a while ago, wasnt able to play or benefit in any way by the early purchase. bE got my and other big pack founders' money to work with and how they thank it to the early big backers? Putting a juicy discount on it and make me regret to have supported them early.

Miguel is pretty vague and only promises further benefit for old founders next year, when asked about the 20$ loss of a Captain rank backer. I dont believe this will be compensation only for the people who now got the short end of the deal, but for me ist clear that he is talking about offers/benefits for all founders.

The baseline is, that I dont feel like supporting this kind of behaviour. Is bE so fair to offer me to undo my purchases so far? With the returned money I might even buy the Captains pack again at the discount rate and enjoy a nice evening with the saved 20 bucks on top.
  10. This being a pre-purchase of the game, you are well within your rights to do that. It has been common knowledge from the beginning that if you wanted out all you have to do is follow the refund policy. Personally I could care less. I bought in the day after release, so I know I won't make it into the first come first served alpha or beta testing, but I get first wave on the module and I get enough points to purchase the Rogue Trader Items I want. I got what I paid for, which is not punishment for me. What other people pay for and receive, I could care less about, but that would take effort. If I could go back into the past and suggest anything, it would be that bE go ahead with the sale, but also make the RTP points equivalent to the sale value, that is that if you are paying $20 less you get 20000 less RTP. so that way you are getting the early access in a sale, not the points, but still, don't particularly care. Also Sergoros point demonstrates the importance of personal messages to devs if you spot an issue (i.e. copper weapons) rather then keeping that to yourself or whinging about it on dark corners of the forum. Once again the devs show us that if we talk to THEM they will respond.
