I really hope that you can achieve a wide variety of customizations and especially with battle damage and wear!
Please do not allow the return of the Rainbow Marines..... Orks with pink pony tails would also be disturbing....
I hope they don't add custom chapters, it feels very unecessary, of course they're might be clans or such with their own custom logo probably, that's be cool, but no custom chapters when there are already many to choose from.
I hope they do something for Guilds as far as "custom" schemes go, say you form a Guild and you just want a certain color scheme then everyone in the Guild can either have that color scheme equipped or not, but if there are any Guild events or such then maybe have the color scheme always be on or something, cause for Chaos, Orkz, and possibly Eldar it would make sense to have a Custom War Band/Clan/Craftworld. But then again this is all just my opinion since I am really looking forward to leading a Guild in game .
Brother Krasnozname nov Has a cool idea the combined with Azurose (you must earn some things). I don't know if anyone meantioned this, but have a generic pay for the gear one (make it kinda bland because you paid to get it) and have one that can be earned (or more than one version) have the look representative of what they were earned for ex; tyranid bits for killing a big nid. Also, maybe include some of the old MK armors that are held as relics or something special (some of the new amor is good too because you can't get shot in the throat. Can we maybe make a list that can be added to and colored to see what is in game (when open), what is ideal, and to make it easy for devs to read instead of every post? I can if I get suggestions on templates that people would like to see it in.
Neither WAR nor GW2 had that problem, despite complete colour customisation and 100+ battles. WoT doesn't have that problem, despite tanks on both sides having identical default colours and camoflage colours depending on country of origin. This was all solved by the not-very-innovate-at-all-actually approach of having a visible player's name be in green if they're allied, red if not. Plus, if I'm struggling to differentiate between Eldar, Orks, Chaos and Imperium based on the character models, I have a whole load more of a problem than confusion based on colour! I've not seen an announcement by the devs saying that colours will be forcibly restricted to those of your chapter/craftworld, etc. What I've seen them say is that other chapters/craftworlds, etc. are not going to be built into the game (ie, they won't have their own quests, major characters, unique customisations or be selectable as a default colour scheme). I don't believe these two are the same things. After all, we're already likely to have the odd situation where in a single fight people from four different space marine chapters are uniting up for against four different chaos legions and four different craftworlds and four different ork waaaaghs. There's going to be enough colour confusion that its not going to 'feel' like the Dark Angels heroically taking on Craftworld Ulthwe because 80%+ of combatants in the field won't belong to either of them.
Sorry if I lead to confusion. I meant my list can be for the bits, the small costomizations, like trophie rack, seals, runes, loot and junk for personal costomization. Save the grand stuff for the leaders or special rewards but I can make a nice table for all of that with suggestion weak- strong (for Devs) and plausablity (for us). Again I am open to all suggestions (go ahead or shut up). The second saves me time.
@Antius Loganus & LordFang Found this quote from Brent Elllison - Lead designer, you may both get your wishes. http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/954/view/forums/thread/390686/page/3 "Hmm... there won't be anything called "guilds" in the game, but we certainly have analogous structures. Chapters are like races in other games (human, dwarf, elf), in that if you're on the Space Marine side you can choose any of the available Chapters on Character Creation yet still form community structures with your friends. A set of 2-10 (approximately) players on the same side can form a Battle Squad, which takes the form of a small guild. This is effectively the core unit of the game - we really want players to be able to have these tight-knit structures that do everything together and build up their own legend. Multiple Battle Squads can then form into Strike Forces, but the Squads don't go away. You still get to keep your Squad name and your Squad space, you're just also now part of a larger group that can coordinate for bigger challenges. We're looking into the possibility of player groups being able to earn the right to create their own Chapters/Craftworlds/Clans, etc., but we want to make sure we do justice to the core 40k Chapters first. -Brent, Lead Designer"
