I think most, if not all, of them are gone (2 dead, 1 in stasis, 5 disappeared & 1 uncertain) from the Imperium at this point.
Well, very glad to see this is being done. For a long time now, Games Workshop's big narrative failing has not been moving forwards into M42 but failing to go back and flesh out old events, sticking instead to two extremes in their timeline. We can hope from this we might start to see a more general examination and detail looking into a lot of key eras which have thus far been almost entirely ignored.
I always expected the Space Marines Battles series to cover the full ten thousand years between the Heresy and their present day but except for only one mainstream novel (Battle of the Fang) and a couple of novellas (mostly about the Flesh Tearers) the majority have been set in the 41st Millenium.
