@TechCaptain the promethium tank managed to take down five of the Necron warriors only two of which managed to get back up again, the follow up of bolter fire taking down another three of which only one of the Necrons reanimated from. @EvicusDasan1 @Uriel1339 @Grall_Stonefist @High_Adept_Zeth @Illfetus @Vulpas @Maleth Maleth managed to take down two of the Necrons, the first got up again but the second remained lying on the street where it was twitching like all the others the group had fell before. @Vanestus ~ The Ironclad sped on cutting through the waves of Necron fighters and its main weaponry blazing as it came rushing towards the first of the Xenos ships, it did not slow down as it drew close instead it seemed to speed up headed straight towards the broadside of the Necron Harvester ship, it was going to try to ram the vessel. The Xenos had not been slow in responding having already directed considerable fire at the oncoming Ironclad, the Imperial vessel suffered grievous damage to its hull yet it did not stop shrugging off its damage and surging forward. Although there was no sound to reinforce the feeling looking up at the night sky to watch the battle you could practically feel the force impact of the crash as the two ships collided, the Ironclad moving at full speed rammed into the side of the Xenos vessel. although it was impossible to tell if any real damage had been done to the Necron ship it was no longer moving of its own accord and was now drifting away at the mercy of the planet gravity, the other Necron vessel had not stopped shooting though and it bombarded the side of the Ironclad with a plethora of extremely powerful weaponry. The Imperial vessel unable to take any more damage started to fall as well towards the planet surface the 'Thunderchild' unable to continue the battle against the Necrons. Behind it the last of the Imperial transports had engaged their warp drives and had left the system with their refugee cargo leaving only the last remaining Necron harvester ship hovering in the void. The 'Thunderchild' as it re-entered the planet atmosphere was slowly disappearing beyond the horizon where after a few tense minutes there was a small earthquake indicating that the heroic Imperial navy ship had crashed somewhere on the planet surface. Meanwhile in the battle around the city square the Necrons had indeed been taken by surprise by the sudden attack, but they were not caught off guard for long quickly redirecting their fire towards the 19th Valerian even as they continue to march down the streets. The Mordian Iron guard had deployed itself inside the city square itself and were in formation to meet the oncoming machines ready to fire as soon as the Necrons were in range.
Sgt.Alton got the vox as continued steady fire from his covered position. " Engage the enemy you dogs. " So far only Saven engaged limiting their effectiveness. Sgt. Alton used his percision to take oit what he could. His Boltgun gun was his friend in this, he knew he had a little bit of more shooting before he had to fall back.
Zita had been caught off guard as she saw the thunder Child descending towards the planet she wondered if any of the navy crew survived and if any would survive the crash, She quickly came back to where she was when she heard the sergeant. Grabbing her plasma gun she brought it upwards and began firing at the Necron line, taking aim she sent Fiery blue balls of plasma towards the necron lines. "Think anyone on the thunder child survived?" she asked as the battle went on.

With Sergeants eloquent boost of morale to his own men,Felix took cover behind the debri,opening fire on Necron Phalanx.Glancing at the sky from time to time,as if expecting an alien ghost ship or something of the sort to appear. "Most certainly there is."answered Valerian to Zita,his angst rising at the sight of a falling Imperial ship.At least it has gone out with a bang,rising the morale of the crowd.
When the Thunderchild came crashing down , Saven replied to both the Valerian veteran and Zita "If anyone did survive the crash, they're probably not going to survive for long planetside before the Xenos get 'em" before she fired a few more rounds at the advancing Necrons, hoping to nail a few more of the machines before they got too close to the squad.

The refugees inside the open area scattered out of fear seeking to disperse into the surrounding buildings away from the attacking forces The night sky was lit with green flashes the ghostly green shooting stars that had originally brought the Necrons to this world were starting to come in abundance with cylinder following cylinder in the space of but a few seconds, with the Thunderchild gone there was now nothing the Imperial guard had left with which to stop them. To many that had struggled so hard to simply fight off just two cylinders it seemed that truly this world now belonged to the Necrons and an ominous feeling of doom fell upon the remaining planetary defenders. Even though the Thunderchild had fallen the last of the Imperial transports had successfully escaped the system managing to evade the remaining Necron harvester ship and commenced warp jumps away from the stricken planet. At least now a small portion of the Planetary population was now safe leaving those that were left behind with the almost herculean task of surviving the nightmarish onslaught of the Xenos. Oglesby was watching the phenomena with great interest focusing his attention on each of the shooting stars as they erupted from Artemis Minor in the middle of the battle as if nothing else was of any concern to him, he was still whirring away as he continued recording everything the Xenos did. He had not even drawn his Phospher Serpenta to aid the 19th Valerian's ambush upon the Necron phalanx. A fresh vox from the Mordian regimental command crackled over the noise of the battle and with it a stream of agitated chatter emerged from guardsmen positions all over the city, the Mordian command wanted to evacuate the city seeing it as a lost cause with no further strategic value. Using the Valkyries they were instead demanding the gradual relocation of the focus of the defense towards a secondary position which was supposedly easier to hold.
Sgt. Alton listened to the vox as he shot the Necrons. " Fall back order is in squad. Orderly fall back. " Sgt. Alton fired a few bolts then fell back to a new position further back.
++Sir!++ voxed Felix back as he took quick bursts of las-fire as they moved from cover to cover.Every chance,an sterling opportunity to dispatch a xeno for good.This was the world of Mankind...and it pained him to give ground to the enemy. He always held the line.
@TechCaptain Even after a few more precise shots the Necrons were no longer hindered by the hail of bolt fire, no more of the Xenos were taken down by the sargeant as the squad fell back. @Vulpas @Maleth @EvicusDasan1 @Illfetus @High_Adept_Zeth The lasfire took down one more Necron which remained twitching on the ground. @Vanestus @Grall_Stonefist @Uriel1339 ~ As the squad fell back into the square they found the first of the Valkyries already landing to pick up the first of the Mordian troops, among their number was a single platoon commander who spotted the 19th Valerian as he watched the disciplined soldiers board the transports. He also spotted the Techpriest Oglesby and genuinely looked surprised to see him, looking thoughtful for a moment he hailed the squad 'You, you are from the 19th Valerian? and you have the esteemed Techpriest Oglesby with you? We have received orders from senior officers to head to the Mechanicus observatory north of the city, regimental command has deemed it appropriate to send out a distress beacon to the Imperium regarding the situation on Artemis. The sooner we accomplish this objective the sooner we can expect reinforcements from Segmentum command, considering you already have the Techpriest relevant to the observatory I must request you and your squad accompany the task force on route to the facility.' The platoon command gestured to one of the waiting Valkyrie transports that had not yet been loaded up with troops. The rest of the Mordians were not paying the squad any mind but the platoon commander was clearly acting independently of specified orders based upon the realization of the Techpriest's presence. 'These Valkyries will take you as far as they can but the Observatory itself must be approached on foot in case we trigger any of the Mechanicus security measures, we have reason to believe the observatory has also been recently attacked so we anticipate enemy activity in the area including potentially haywire security systems. If we bring the Techpriest along we have a chance of at least neutralizing the latter threat without issue. The mission is to get inside the Observatory find the controls to the long ranged communications array and relay the distress beacon to all nearby systems.' The Valkyrie transport remained where it was, the Mordian squad that had originally intended to board the craft had instead been placed on a hold ground stance in the city square after a barked order from the platoon commander, an order that they obliged with unquestioningly. the transports doors were open and the pilot was waiting for the squad to embark ready for takeoff.
Sgt. Alton saluted the Platoon Commander. " No rest for the weary folks. Board the craft. I want all weapons maintained and checked in flight." He made his way to the craft's loading door and stood at it to wave his guys through. First one there, last ones out.
