Sgt. Alton heard Saven's vox chatter and blaze the walkers cause. " Let's get about playing rear guard. Melta and Grenades on the one Saven is not on. Percision fire on the Saven is on. Bolt rounds and Plasma. Target the legs and weaponry. " He rushed to Saven's position, he didn't have the grapple system Saven did so he climbed up the walker, and did it alot quicker than the unaugmented could do. With a plasma pistol in one hand and his sword in the other, he fired point blank at the pilot.
With Monty`s inspiring speech probably taken directly from the Primer,Felix tried to maintain order with a couple of PDF folk as the Necron walker, reared its ugly shape and started attacking the...tents. If civilians start to panic, they may as well be trampled meat. "Please, maintain order!"yelled Felix over the clamor of the freightened folk, holding his bayoneted Lasgun for any PDF or Civilian alike that starts to panic. "Do not be afraid, the Guard is here to protect you!Just follow this road and be mindful of the folk around you!"yelled Felix as he eyed Saven and Sergeant as they dynamically attacked one of the walkers.
"Keep moving, Keep going get moving, Get to the Capital fall back position, Keep ahead of these monsters, Keep each other moving and help each other out Before the things get in range," Zita said to the refugees trying to get them to move faster out of the camp as she heard her orders from the captain she grabbed her plasma gun. Taking aim at the legs as orders she began to fire and move at the walker Saven and the commander were not on and try to slow it down. If the civilians don't keep moving this will become a slaughter ground, Will cause a lot more to panic and die if they don't keep the Monsters out of range.
"Run to live another day, we will cover your back, people! Go go go!" Rifleman Monty roared at the top of his lungs as he went down to a knee after finding some cover, readying his grenade launcher attached to his rifle to catapult the projectile to the massive alien machine (that was not being engaged by Saven).
Stepping forward while readying his autocannon, Rex braced himself for the powerful recoil of the mighty weapon before opening fire on on the walker being fired on by Rifleman Monty.
@Maleth Equipped with a void blade like the one they had fought earlier the Praetorian piloting the walker swiped at the half Eldar before she came too close, yet unlike the previous pilot they had fought this Xenos refused to leave his seat choosing instead to buck his war machine in a bid to throw off the guardsmen clambering onto his machine. This made remaining on the stalker a difficult feat and it was trouble enough to even finding footing with which to even attack the pilot. @High_Adept_Zeth The civilians had maintained their purpose thankfully and they continued to move with a clear purpose in mind as they fled, the PDF organising the evacuation were successfully managing to police the crowd of people making sure no one broke away from the movement. A degradation of the organised evacuation due to a handful of individuals who thought they might know better was a dangerous reality but one that was thankfully being kept in check by both the 19th Valerian and the PDF soldiery. @EvicusDasan1 @Uriel1339 The grenade managed to damage one of the walkers legs forcing it to slow down its advance, overall the PDF was attracting much more fire than the squad was even though the squad had by far the most advanced weaponry, so therefore Monty was free to maneuver without fear of attracting too much focus fire. @TechCaptain The plasma shot managed to find its mark and the praetorian in the pilot seat was damaged but it did not abate its efforts to throw off the attackers, a nearby phalanx of Necrons were bearing down on the squad seeking to aid the stalker, within moments both Saven and Alton would be in range of their Gauss weaponry. @Illfetus @Grall_Stonefist @Vanestus One of the autocannon shots managed to hit the pilot causing the Xenos to reel back in its seat from the blast before it leaned back forward to regain control of the Stalker, Rex's efforts though wildly inaccurate had still caused considerable damage to the vehicle straining the machines ability to repair itself. @Vulpas The plasma created more damage to the walker which on top of Monty's efforts eventually forced the Stalker to a standstill. the heat ray functioned however and as if in retaliation to all the high powered weaponry being fired at it the Necron inside had started to saturate the trench line with fire from its dispersed heat ray incinerating many of the remaining PDF fighting there. ~ The Commandant this time riding a horse and leading a squad of ten rough riders suddenly raced past the squad, advancing at a gallop they seemed intent on doing a practically suicidal charge on one of the Necron Phalanxes and by the sound of their warcries were motivated to do it out of sheer bravado. The cavalry squad was equipped with hunting lances, specialist weapons that had explosive devices on the end of their wooden shafts, normally excellent anti infantry weapons but practically useless against massed formations particularly when individual rough riders normally don't come equipped with any more than one lance. As the Necrons recognized the threat the overwatch fire from the Xenos was almost immediate taking down 4 of the rough riders even as they closed distance with the Necrons, with a thunderous crash the cavalry squad ended up among the formation and there were the sounds of multiple explosions as the hunting lances went off. It was impossible to tell how many Necrons the foolhardy charge had actually taken out but the action had managed to disrupt the cohesion of the Necron Phalanx and had managed to distract the rest of the Xenos force to the plight of one of their units. The Rough riders were losing numbers very rapidly however and soon it was only the commandant left hacking uselessly at the Necrons with his ornate steel sword, eventually he was pulled off his horse and the conflict ended as predictable an outcome as it could have been. Their sacrifice however had bought the refugees precious time and as the camp cleared out an ever greater gap was growing between them and the Necron force, as the first of the refugees reached the open road to the capital the fleeing people started to outpace the Xenos rendering them safe for the time being. The PDF now leaderless were also beginning to break and rout already realizing that their weapons were useless, they followed the refugees as they fled the camp leaving only a handful of remaining troops plus the squad of the 19th Valerian to fight the rear guard action. The remaining PDF happened to be the majority of the soldiers equipped with the more advanced weaponry available to them namely the bolt action rifles and the autoguns which seemed to comprise the hardened core of the PDF garrison judging by their discipline. Still busy evacuating the base these same individuals were slowly falling back subjecting the Necrons to as much fire as they could muster even as the first of the Phalanxes reached the outer perimeter of the base and the first trenches. Many of the cannons had been abandoned by their crews left to join the fleeing mass of refugees as they ran halting the mostly obsolete artillery fire upon the Phalanxes.
Sgt. Alton loosed one of his grenades off of his belt and dropped it into the pilots seat area then raced to jump off the walker, knocking Saven with him. His outstretched arm partially caught Saven as he jumped off. " All remaining troops Fall back now. Orderly retreat. Disable and go."
"LET NOT THE EMPEROR FIND YOU WANTING. SHOW THESE XNOES THE TRUE STRENGTH OF THE IMPERIUM, YOU ARE THEONES WHO SET THE STANDARD FOR MANKIND AT THIS MOMENT, OUR FOE IS STRONG BUT OUR ZEAL SHALL BE GREATER." The redemtionist had gotten into the middle of the crowd of PDF, and now starded his firery preaching, "ONLY IN A ZEALOUS DEATH CAN ONE BE ACCEPTED INTO TO THE RANKS BESIDE THE GOD EMPEROR HIMSELF."
As Alton grabbed her, Saven couldn't help but say "Let the person who has the Grav-Chute do the knocking people off to save them" as she slipped from his grip and fired up the chute's jets and suspensor field, taking the Sergeant's outstretched hand so that hopefully he didn't learn the hard way about how dangerous gravity could be to the unprepared. Meanwhile, the Guardwoman stowed her power sword in favour of her bolter, firing off a parting shot at the pilot before she and Alton landed on firm ground. Saven could only hope that the squad managed to get moving before the machine footsoliders advanced any closer.
"Good shot Rex!" Monty complimented the Ogryn at which he decided to regroup. "Sergeant says fallback, so let's do that! Slow and purposeful, 'ight?" The Elysian said as he primed his Lasrifle, doing few but precision shots at whatever Necron was firing at their direction, aiming rather to suppress than to kill. If they could just have aerial support... One bombing carpet and they would be goners, especially as slow as they move!
