Wall Climbing on Fortress Maps to be Brought Back

That's not what I meant. Clinging and then turning 180 so the camera reorientates itself back towards the wall just doesn't seem intended. It's just weird and awkward.

I stand by what I said earlier, this is not the solution. Literally all the maps need some redesigns and bug fixes (there's still many problem areas that prevent vaulting over when you should, and stairs).

Or, I dunno, some new content like different kinds of jump packs that function differently, allowing wall climbing / regen on walls, or whatever. Maybe some spots to land on on the walls.

Didn't know this was a thing, but yeah Im all for this.

Im also very happy to see a post from @Thraxus that isn't about Ranged vs melee.

Yeah I think the reason it points you out away from the wall is if you wanted to hop between two walls a bit like this:
    . . . . . . . :SMDeal: Finish
    . . | / |
    . . | \ |
    . . | / |
    . . | \ |
    Start . . .

There is almost no instance where this is a thing in EC except for the garrison ( this would have been SO much easier to do in MS Paint - lol)

I mean I figured out how to climb walls purely by accident after one day I wanted to figure out how I could re create that occasional accidental wall cling. It was then a process of elimination to figure out if I wanted to be aiming the right way to get up and over the wall I had to spin the camera around while clinging to the wall.

It does seem a bit awkward, new players wouldn't know to do this unless they stumbled on to it.

Yeah, Ranged. . . is what it is, the community knows it, the devs know it, it'll either change or nobody will play the game, no point bitching about it any more.

But yeah you should give this a go in the garrison, can get different effects with Hawk due to the long travel distance too.

I remember doing that too .. BUT I think raptor used to be a little tougher at that time which allowed you to Eat a few bullets ... But with the current Raptor Health .. I dont think you will survive wall climbing before getting killed and dropping down saying WEEEEEEEEEEE

simple solution: Add a slight lip to the top of walls that prevents players from simply firing directly downward on the climbers.

I have no trouble Flying over fortress walls.

They've put in un-climbable surfaces on fortress walls so you cant cling on to them any more to re-positon for that final jump up and over.

Hawks wouldn't see this as a problem as they can just find a high enough vantage point to soar straight over without needing to cling onto the wall in the first place.

There is no reason for these slippery surfaces to be in game other than to make airborn classes jobs at flanking less efficient and less fun.

While I wholeheartedly agree that flying classes should be able to cling to walls (yes, without the camera turn, that was simply shoddy), there is the issue of flying classes only being available to paying players. Reinstating this feature would widen the gap between paying and free players...

There's a reason nobodys complaining about airborn classes *Melee in particular* as being P2W.

And that is there's simply no way anybody could make that connection because they are that bad due to the current low TTK Ranged meta that's plaguing the game for the last 4 months now.

I can still scale walls if I put my mind to it but not as efficiently and not at any point on the wall leaving out a lot of strategic angles I could utilize.

All Airborn classes have the ability to cling on to walls, its a part of their mechanic.

One of the ways to utilize this is was to grab onto a wall while you re-position to jump over the fortress wall for flanking and surprise attack.

Airborn classes are exactly for flanking and surprise attack. So I don't see why this utility has been taken away.
