Your enthusiasm is quite endearing. It's even eroding my natural skepticism towards games still in production a bit, which is pretty hard to do after other studios let me down a bit too many times.
The most important part of chaos sorcerers in general. I NEED to summon a group of daemonettes into the field to run rampant.
That said, is GW ironclad on this? Making our own Chapters/Warbands WOULD make the battle make a bit more sense. They would all be from X legion of course, but the successor chapters would explain why there may be more then 1000 Blood Angels on one planet etc.
I don't think they would be "ironclad" about people making successors to the core ones, requiring some semblance of relation to or retaining the traditions of; They just have issues with people "making up" chapters which would otherwise brake the lore or add cannon which they otherwise don't want, or in the case of ones which have no back story or without a parent chapter, mainly because that's how Space Marines have been since 5th edition. So what it sounds like to me is that the developers and GW reached a compromise which would make GW happy, the TT Space Marine players happy, the lore fans happy and the SpaceMarine/DoW fans happy, by the sounds of it.
Oh yes I agree, if it were implemented it'd have to have a parent chapter and go through some review process of some kind.
I'd like to hear more on this. If Djemo is correct & Miguel did state: Joe: "The guilds are gonna be able to create their own Space Marine chapters? And colors?" Miguel: "Of course yes, customization is very important" Then he may need to bring it up during the next livestream. One of the biggest draws for this game is that everything that happens is supposed to become cannon & part of the real lore. I can see it now... "After centuries of conflict, race (x) finally managed to conquer all of Arkhona. Race (x) led by chapters "Friendship is Magic" & "Leetawesomesauce" largely contributed to the success in the most decisive campaigns...etc etc etc
