I presume you mean they do that when they've successfully Screamed at their opponent? And if so, what's the problem? You can take a Power Fist and a Strong Attack will kill anyone in one hit.
I voted that the patch is bad, I have two friends who have stopped playing because of the changes to support classes and TTK. As for myself that aspect plus the reduced variety of classes being fielded over all are reason enough. The LSM biased aspects of the patch are just icing on the cake. So keep in mind the possible number of bad votes that would have been cast if it hadn't already driven those players who disliked this patch to play other games.
Well, you most certainly seem like the only person who didn't used Reaper Launcher recently judging by that post.
Used it two days ago, works fine for shelling a turtle position. Care to elaborate your issues with it? (besides the obvious "multi-missile mode doesn't actually shoot straight" and "the cooldown nerf went well beyond what was called for" stuff) Because you being passive-aggressive at me isn't helping anyone except your like count (hey there Gravewalker)
Long story short: You can't kill people fast enough anymore, unless they hump each other to be of any meaningful effectiveness, you can't use it to shoot inside points, because you got not AoE or RoF(both plasma gun and kannon deffgun excel here, unlike tempest launcher, which while effective, can't be used at range and require you to expose yourself).
The main problem now is the answer you get from opponents after a first shot. I used mine, and many time a sniper rewarded me for being so cocky and when I'm against Eldar, I reward them the same way. It was not a problem before cooldown nerf but now we even have a hit and run gameplay on Reaper Launcher. Anti Tank wise, compared to a heavy laser, I find it really hard to use. I prefer using a Fire dragon with double grenade. I want sun-spear on Fire dragon
Will throw in points so it's not all mad rants as it does have many problems that makes it a poor weapon overall. Cooldown nerf made AI killing very hard, many of the shots I land look like they landed but didn't, before I could follow up shot to try and catch them again, the gun doesn't fire straight in AV mode and fire from random points of the barrel, a shot that should land fails because it fired too low and hits cover. The guide mode doesn't work the majority of the time and just dumb fires the shot The cooldown combined with the charge time, now its a slower lascannon with travel time with no way to adjust either speed or cooldown while having a pretty long cooldown, connecting to the point its AV TTK is appaling and half the time you cant even half a tanks health as it drives away before a second shot is ready and it may not even hit if mobile, this is bearing in mind it had a TTK of like 12 seconds+ for a empty tank, it probably reached well over 20+ seconds now considering its 6 seconds per shot minimum, this is why Melta bundle is Vital, its the only other AV weapon in the entire faction. Connecting to the charge time a boltor can kill a reaper like 2.5 times over before he completes that 3 second charge with travel time, why use this for AI at all bar ticket cheese for heavies, a shuriken cannon is better in AI and probably AV ironically, further more they can roll into the shot and survive and I cant even do 3 or 4 starswarms afterwards since the whole gun goes on a 3 second cooldown The gun is overpriced for its viability and only half the gun works at the best of times, remove the second mode as it restricts the amount of buffs the other half which is the only useable one gets and instead the other good mode gets nerfed every few patches making it progress into a weak gimmick, its hurts the weapon and adds little to no benefit unlike plasma snap shots. I think its safe to save time ignoring the Starswarm points unless you want too I would like this weapon fixed as this weapon is as iconic to Reapers as boltors to Marines, really it should be an auto cannon but instead is turned into a poor Missile launcher with less ammo types and garbage plasma shot.
If you can't shoot inside points, then what the heck was I doing on Maggon and Torias the other day? In all seriousness, I simply don't agree with any of you three when you say "the gun has no ability to kill except on direct hits, which you will never land". That's really all I have to say, I disagree with you. It's got a lot of obnoxious little downsides that make it worse than the plasma cannon -- that much is plainly obvious -- but if I want to deal explosive damage on my Eldar char then as far as I'm concerned I have a weapon that deals explosive damage I guess I'm already used to re-positioning a couple feet after every shot when using the lascannon, plasma cannon, and kannon deffgun, so jumping to the side after shooting an Eldar missile doesn't bother me. That I'll freely admit is subjective, though "Doesn't fire straight in AV mode"? That's the only mode that does fire straight. Multi-missile mode just zips around everywhere like a bunch of Gretchin built it, while AV mode at least doesn't randomly change vector Hmm, that's an interesting idea, actually, what if the multi-missile mode was replaced with something akin to the autocannon?...
Its still a problem though, I expect a gun to fire straight, the reaper launcher can be a dice roll depending on where it fires unless you try to slightly tilt with the guide which currently doesn't work for me much of the time, this is meant to be one of the most accurate weapons in his arsenal and funny enough its one of the most inaccurate for the class, a true record when you have the heavy boltor that trades range for a hose and a mortar with broken aiming I'm all for making it a plasma snap shot with less damage (s7 vs 5 on TT even though snap plasma doesn't exist), I guess thats AC like although I wouldn't use at range which sounds kind of fair.
