What are some chaos warbands you would want to see personally, within Eternal Crusade? I do not wish to mirror this thread with many others like it, so the main difference in the discussion within this thread are minorities/minor legions Exclude any first founding legions. Exclude any God-specific legions (such as Angels of Ecstasy as an example) This would be a great way to give some minor characters/warbands in the setting some exposure. Something lesser known could also give the artists within behavior artist license - if a legion isn't as defined in terms of their art direction - the team can truly get creative then. I vouch for the Blood Gorgons. The art piece is already being used by Behavior for their twitter page. The original art piece was for the novel 'Blood Gorgons' by Henry Zou, and the artist is Raymond Swanland, and some of you might recognize it from the 6ED Chaos codex. Now. Why do am I putting forth the Blood Gorgons? They're pretty fething cool, that's why! They're undivided. They've got a reasonable amount of battle brothers (about a chapters worth) They're raiders and pirates essentially. They specialize in boarding actions. Their armour color is burnt ember. They've got oceanic growth on their armour (think crustaceans, and barnacle-like growth). They fight as cohesive well trained force (kind of like the Word Bearers/Iron Warriors) They've got some unique weapons like power-tridents and cutlasses. What's unique about them is that each battle-brother is bonded to another using daemonic magics and surgery. This grants them better experience as fighters, as they share pain and experience and reflexes. I'm not sure how this would reflect in game, perhaps a minor damage buff when fighting near other Blood Gorgons. TDLR of why I put forth this minor warband as my vote Unique art design, could be explored freely by the artists/modelers Undivided - they do not worship any specific god as a patron (which goes well with the undivided speculation of the legions expected in-game) Some cool backstory that could be freely expanded upon Could provide some interesting game mechanics that reward army-like tactics Now for discussion - What is a minor/lesser warband that you wish to put forth as a possible faction down the line ( if not for the fifth subfaction) Why are they interesting and or unique? What's a cool feature of theirs and is it a special characteristic of theirs? What are some neat game mechanics that could fit around this specific warband? Limit your post to one warband please, to allow for more variety. -If someone else put forth a warband you wanted to suggest, 'like' their post in agreement, we'll see if we can use this as a method of voting (for now to determine some popular minor warbands-
Who? - The Faithless Why? - They are the "offspring," of the Alpha Legion (who are already cool) They were the only Warband present during the first few years of the Siege of Vraks They were known to perform great feats with minimal troops Easily expandable yet still solid back story Game wise? - They are masters of manipulation, however unlike the Alpha Legion they use their manipulative nature specifically on the battlefield, as a result they could have some abilities/wargear etc that confuse or subtly manipulate the enemy closer to their deaths.
I'd like to see Red Corsairs as one of Chaos forces sub-factions. It's not minor or less known group of CSMs thus it has quite good chances to have appearance in game. What I like about corsairs is that their mix of renegades, xenos and heretics from all over the galaxy allows to join in without breaking your chosen fluff backroung, just choose anything you want and go ahead, at the same time they posses enough power to be reckoned with. In contradiction to the Black Legion's stratagem the roaming raids of Red Corsairs fleets have more freedom to choose their prey and tactics, what I also favor. So be it, if corsairs will have interest in [classified planet] invasion, I'll take colors of the Tyrant and join the rampage.
Chosen of Nemeroth I'll say Red Corsairs, because this guys are awesome in their tactics (I really love how they captured the "Wolf of Fenris"). Although, they are mostly known for their space battles, i think that Red Corsairs would be a nice choice.
Red Corsairs, wouldn't mind a Warband that is different with their tactics and is just overall never really mentioned or known. Though if I could I would love to participate in the Skull Harvest it sounds so fun
