You're right, the pistol is fine. Nerf melee Dbash times on melee classes so that melee classes can't Dbash+Headshot. Njord hated it with ranged classes, and of course being stout of character he hates it for melee characters. Ergo he supports nerfing Dbash times for melee classes so they can't do the same thing he was arguing about in the past. Njord and I support this idea.
So in your logic the d-bash times for melee classes are the basic evil, because people are killing there opponent? Its not just because people are lazy and use the easiest way to kill there opponent? There is no rule for using in a melee fight just melee weapons...a pistol is part of the loadout and it is a weapon. So why not using it in some way? Why to force people to use a specific direction?
MC weapons are a great thing ... im so glad they are a more reasonable price now. dbash shortening for ranged was a bad idea. axe/maul changes were pointless fix their animation speeds instead. ranged should have been balanced by slightly adjusting their damage down over a series of quick patches focused solely on this goal and with the ease of rollback so if you went to far you can roll back quickly. LP is still all over the place, theres a cqc gun that costs 150 lp doing 228 damage in a dbash window, and a melee weapon that costs 200 lp doing 100, both are on melee mains and the tac variants have access to the 150 lp better melee weapon for dbash windows ..... there are countless other mistakes as stupid as these in the lp efficiency breakdown. defensive items are equally all over the place, math was clearly not used to "sanity check" what costs what.
Pistol damage has remained constant throughout the entirety of Alpha, in that the Bolt Pistol reflects the damage output of the Bolter per round. Why wasn't bash + Pistol head shot an issue during the entirety of Alpha? Why all of the sudden is it a problem now? The problem is NOT the pistol, the problem is +100% damage increase per damage. Throughout the entirety of Alpha we didnt have +100% damage increase per headshot and that's why bash + pistol + headshot was not every an issue worthy of note. Bash + Pistol + Head shot as a technique has not changed probably in the last 20 months. 100% Head shot damage on the other hand is relatively new.
You're arguing for the sake of arguing. What do you say we discuss the issues and not slander one another? Can you do that? If you're so correct in your assumptions, surely you dont need to resort to speaking for me and just straight up lying and defaming my character. Just FYI: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/suspension-and-ban-policy.64335/ https://eternalcrusade.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216531523-Suspension-and-Ban-policy 3. Excessive messages directed at(an individual), or defaming the character of players. I'll ask again. If Dbash + Pistol + Headshot was such an issue in the past(prior to +100% head shot damage), why wasn't it ever a "thing" when this technique was being used and existed during the 6 to 8 months or so of Alpha when headshot damage was NOT so extreme? Just all of the sudden bash + Pistol + Headshot is a problem because of the pistol when the pistol hasn't changed one bit in the last 18 to 20 months? Furthermore why/how is it possible that bash + 50 LP Pistol is more effective than bash + 300 to 450 LP power sword? Does it not seem rather odd that bash + 50 LP Pistol is more effective and more lethal than bash + 200-450 LPSword? Would you not think the 200 LP - 450 LP Power Sword would be vastly superior in damage than a few headshots from a pistol? Why is that the case do you think? Check @1:07. For some reason the guy doesn't headshot. This is what it was like most of Alpha when being headshot from a pistol after being bashed. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkv8G8m5SLA&feature=youtu.be Pistol damage per shot has reflected Bolter damage per shot for the last 2 years and it's never been an issue until recently. You would deny that? What's changed recently? Head shot damage being an +100% increase is what has changed.
It's not up to me. I'm simply pointing out the facts: 1. We had less head shot damage in the past. So we still had a head shot bonus, just not so extreme. 2. Bash + pistol + headshot was NEVER an issue up until the time that we started seeing a +100% damage increase from head shots. 3. It seems odd that a 50LP pistol would be more effective after a bash than a 200 LP to 450 LP sword. The pistol is more effective because of the head shot damage. 4. Bolt Pistol damage has reflected Bolter damage per shot for over 2 years and it's never been an issue, until again, we saw head shot damage being a 100% damage increase.
Thing is Njord till this patch you could just D-Bash and use your Primary weapon to secure the kill so why would someone swap to the pistol? Its been brought to light now that only melee classes get the longer stun.
Great patch 7 Wins and 2 lost. Each match was a total mayhem and lots of good fights where the games were decided within the last minut. The only game that wasn't close was a fortress defense Vs Greenskins. We got rolled the hard way so I am looking forward to do the 10 campaign games on my greenskin. The Dbash nerf for knifes seems great. Forces people to work together rather than going lone wolf. Still, You can win a CC vs a Melee if you play it smart. Still some balance to the melee weapons are needed, but all in all an improvement to the game play from what I experienced. PS. The fortress loss... Did they change the spawn counter or was it just people dying stupidly? Also. Could someone explain me the tactic of not destroying the gates?
