So after long hours of grinding to rank 5, I unlocked the Sorcerer class. The LP boost it gave me didn't really feel significant to make a difference in my gameplay or enjoyment. This may very well be a problem with the fact that Aspiring Sorcerers and their veteran counterpart are already really starved for LP due to very high sorcery costs, but I found myself pretty disappointed by the unlock. I was excited to use the Sigils, but when I found out they are 600 LP for an extra 40 armor (and some pretty damn cool cosmetic effects), I was soured on that as well. Anyone have a similar experience? I just really wanted the Veterans to feel worthwhile.
This is the general feel for people who have Veterans. People find them mostly underpowered and due to the limited life system, sometimes not useful at all. That said they are changing the veteran deployment system, so maybe we'll see more changes there.
I find that super unfortunate. I dunno if deployment will improve things much for me if playing as a Veteran already feels indistinguishable from playing as a standard class. Again, I think this may just be a problem with Sorcerer equipment being overpriced at the moment. I can imagine my Traitor or Assault really benefiting from a better suit of armor... maybe.
Also got the Sorc Veteran, All it does enable you is to take All the Slaneesh spells + the gold armor. But on anything else it's just a normal Sorcerer i guess...
The problem I see with the veteran class is purely due to the fact you can only deploy em 2 times in a 15 minute match, wich makes em unreliable, not fun and, depending on how your team works, it won't last long to see it outside of the spawn point... With that said, the main reason you don't see the veteran classes having more LP or less costly wargear is due to the problem I've mentioned above, until they fixed this you might as well just focus in a class with bigger survivalbility, peraphs the JPA or the GA classes.
They need unique gear only they can use, combi bolters, special Ammo, jumpack with stormshield and more loadout points
As an ultra marine our vets have white helmets.... In most cases I feel more like the target rather than the arrow.
I feel exactly the same way, which is why I stopped playing for awhile. Not going to go thru the nasty GRIND that takes forever to rank 6 and be disappointed yet again.
I'm heading to the vet myself. I posted a thread a couple weeks back to see if it was worth going vet or getting other grades. Most comments were to get the other upgrades. My plan for my first vet is not to select a class a use a lot, but one which I use rarely. That way the vet will open up a load out slot for me. I am looking at it to mostly open up a load out slot, rather than get bonuses.
