The heresy and slander against my Grand Master is astounding. Those Inquisitors that you claim we've killed must have been collateral damage or have had a warp mishap because they certainly didn't make contact. Perhaps they shouldn't be sneaking around in the shadows like heretics. "A moment of Laxity spawns a lifetime of Heresy!" On the other hand, I respect the hell out of my Space Wolf brothers, but they have straight up murdered Inquisitors who have gotten in the way (not that I blame them). Now lets get into pros and cons of the various leaders: Pros: My Grand Master commands the largest number of Terminator armor sets in the ENTIRE Imperium of Man. That seems mildly (sarcasm) helpful in a giant FFA campaign against Chaos Undivided, Eldar, Orks, and Tyranids. My Grand Master has also single-handedly stopped a Black Crusade by killing a Champion of Khorne in single combat. Cons: We do, occasionally, get tasked to kill specific Traitor marines wearing Black Armor (probably Black Legion) and do so immediately. Sometimes that means that others may get left unsupported for the time being. Any Ultramarine leader what.so.ever. Pros: Being the most bland Astartes chapter tactics wise, they would probably be able to over see the use of the various chapters strengths the best. Cons: He'd be so busy reading his Codex Astartes copy that he'd be overwhelmed on both flanks by Orks. There's no way a Space Wolf or a Dark Angel would listen to his moronic by the book tactics while their battle brothers were being overrun. Blood Angels Pros: Very valiant and ruthless leaders willing to win at any cost. (I can respect that) Has some of the longest living leaders in the Imperium Cons: Personally I'd be too worried about them going into Black Rage and killing everyone around them. Space Wolves Pros: I would be okay with this as well. The Space Wolves have some of the most ruthless win at all cost leaders as well. Cons: They can suffer from their gene mutation just like the Blood Angels They also implement tactics so far from the norm that I'm not sure they would be able to manage all of the Chapters to their fullest like some of the other leaders could. As for those that wanted a Chapter Master to be running things. I'm sorry, Azrael was a little busy elsewhere for this minor campaign. Belial can more than handle it.
Seems you have not read the Sons of Fenris novel. Spoiler Where Dark Angels murder not only IG/PDF but Space Wolves as well, all for the sake of capturing a single Fallen Angel. We'll give you the Dark Angels if you give us the Alpha Legion. We all really know the former are really heretics and the latter are truly Loyalists.
To be fairly honest, I was kind of disappointed at the reveal, not because it's a Dark Angel commander for the Space Marine forces on Arkhona, but rather, the other faction leaders just look bigger and better. The Orks have a new original character who is roughly as big as a Dreadnought, with a passion for Space Wolf trinkets... Did I also mention he has Dreadnought's claw for a hand? Chaos has Abaddon the Despoiler, Warmaster of Chaos Undivided and orchestrator of most of the Black Crusade. Eldar have a Phoenix Lord, Jain Zar of the Howling Banshee aspect, with her Frisbee of death
I dont like Belial being the leader not because he is a DA (actually he is propably the only of the unforgiven i really like...that is still allive!)But because he is the person that leads Deathwing armies=TDA armies and we will not have TDAs for s0me time, imo if BE had to make a DA leader the Chaplain from the story would be a better option till TDAs were implemented and then giving command to Belial!
Why so much hate? Devs 2 months ago said, that it wount be any chapter master. So it went between inquisition and company captains in general..
It's simple, really. Dark Angels would complain about a Space Wolf leader and vice-versa, everyone would complain about an Ultramarine leader, most seemed to accept having a Blood Angel leader. Since every space marine asset up until recently was exclusively Dark Angel, it's only natural that they'd be the leader's source.
although Belial's gonna be a touph nut to crack on the battlefield since the guy runs around full-time in a terminator suit xD
We most certainly do not. We are loyal to the Immortal Emperor, The Great Lion (may he soon rejoin us), and to Grand Master Azrael who will lead us until that day. The issue is who would be the Blood Angels Leader, the only 3 that really make sense are Dante, Mephiston, and Astorath. Dante doesn't work since they said no Chapter Master's. Astorath, as High Chaplain and executioner of those fallen to the Black Rage, is as much feared and hated by even his own chapter as he is respected. Astorath is perfect for a frontline charge but not leading a campaign. Mephiston would work right now but not if they potentially add other chapters. He is 1 of only 2 Blood Angels to come back from the Black Rage however do we know if that's permanent? Not Really. Also if they add chapters later on, like the Black Templar, then there's no way they would follow a Librarian.
