And they should be pissed at them the UM have shown to the rest of the IoM that the SW are not capable as guardians!But i agree with these recent developments no the UM would not be accepted as leaders of this crusade by the SW!Actually considering how Ragnar was portrayed in the short story i doubt if he would have accepted anyone else but Logan! Regarding UM pride i disagree!Imperium Secundus ,in my opinion ,was the result of Roboute Guilimans loyalty and while it was not loyalty to a man(teh emprah) it was loyalty to something far more important than a single emperor(no matter his power) it was loyalty to the emperors vission and to mankind!And so far ,if we are to use the short stories , the chapter that is portrayed as prideful as the EC are the SW and their leader Ragnar!

They explain it as Mephiston playing referee and convincing Ragnar to back Belial and the planet will still be theirs. See I disagree. He might have thought he was doing the right thing but it talks about RG not telling the Lion about it because as older brother it was his right. Then they both agreed Sanguinius should lead it.
I know that Mephiston managed to do that im just saying that the way Ragnar was portrayed was extreme in his arrogance and pride ! Have you considered that maybe the Lion was not fit to rule/lead in RG eyes?And the fact that he crowned Sanguinius as emperor shows that he didnt even concider himself fit to rule/lead at least as long as there was some of his other (more fitting) siblings nearby!
As I recall, the Emperor made a rather amusing remark about the Imperium Secondus, but he didn't exactly disapprove of it. Robute did exactly what Primarchs were built to do, and in the absence of communication with the rest of the Imperium he built another to fill the void. He was, in essence, just doing his job. Jeeze, even a Heretic can see plain as day that Robute was not doing anything wrong on that front.
