Vehicle Combat

Which of these two vehicle combat types would you like to see in game?

  1. More traidition style (think Battlefield, Planetside 2)

  2. More in Depth, armor values, angels tracks getting blown off (Think wot and possibly war thunder)

    Something simple would be the best choice, don't want to put too much stress on the server.
    That doesn't mean that a vehicle should only have 4 regions to hit(font,sides and back), it could have additional areas such as the tracks, etc...

    I'd like to at least see Tabletop style armor values, that give you a chance of bouncing certain weapons outright. One interesting thing about Tabletop is that vehicle armor is one of the few exceptions to the "1 always fails" rule: if you shoot an S9 or S10 weapon at an AV10 vehicle, they're done.

    More realistic considerations like angles and locational damage would be nice, though. I'd be disappointed if vehicle combat was less realistic than TT, but being more realistic is just fine. :D

    Besides, if vehicle armor is only a % reduction then the Leman Russ Punisher would be OP as hell... that thing's already a terror to anything under AV 11.

    Even if is only % based nothing is stopping certain weapons to have a passive armor penetration.
  4. yea the servers our and will be the main determining factor, but i think that if they can, because these pikko servers sound really awesome and strong. Soo if the serves can handle it, i say they got all out on making combat awesome, and not the dulled down copy and past armor system that seems to be in all combine arms games. I dont think they should have to sacrifice any of there forms of combat, just to make one better.

    Maybe we can get some hints/ idea from the devs on the subject....how dose one go about summing them from the warp?

    Vehicles are an integral part of Warhammer 40k and should be focused on just as much as the infantry part of the game. If I had my way I would just as much time spent making the vehicles as fun and well developed as the infantry. This may be because I have a special place for the Guard in my heart, but there is something to the allure of a well programmed and coded tank.

    Having played Planetside 2.... the customization of vehicles loadout and look appealed to me. The game will do well if there is the option of a good battle ready vehicle game... as well as boots on the ground.
  7. Another question i have would be how would the less the conventional types of armor defense work? Like dont eldar have some kind of clocking on there tanks, i no tau got there stupid disruption field. (think that's what there called
