Because not all helmets have horns (most don't) and it's simpler to do it this way. It's the same reason we don't have a slot in the appearance tab for backpack wings.
  2. back pack wings?...noice ;)

Thats a bummer, couldnt you guys just make a hornless "preset" one for each helmet you add, and then add horn variants on top of that? Im sure that would blow up the workload for sure, but it would definitely bring tons of customization and variety. If its too big a task for the small amount of time left before launch i still hope you tinker with the possibility post launch.

  4. How about simply having a "no horns"option in the horn costumization square?

  5. Maybe it's because of GW. Can't have a classicdesign and then just allow players to put horns on it.
It wouldn't bother me, and I guess a lot of the Horns are new too?

So we would need a restriction on some lore relevant helmets that they can't have horns.

I think this one is right up your alley, since i assume the look (and things written) in the advancements is something that the UI department works on.

Currently theres one big thing missing in the descriptions of items in the advancements tree, which classes can use the items you are unlocking. Would really help if theres a line of text that states "Usable by: X,Y,Z class" or "Usable by: All classes" if the particular item can be equipped on anyone.

On another note, can you please make different UI insignias for the varied types of banners each faction has? Currently when you are the banner holder (or being affected by the banner) you have an icon above your health/shield bar that shows you that you are under the buff (Imperial Eagle for LSM, Chaos Star for CSM). It worked fine while we only had one banner type, but now that we have multiple ones we sorely need different icons based on which buff you are receiving.

So now, irrelevant of which Chaos banner you are under you will always for example have the Undivided icon as your buff, even if you are affected by the Nurgle banner. This hurts the players ability to understand what they are buffed by and thus cant act accordingly without the said knowledge. Any chances we can get some icons (even if quickly cobbled up) to represent different banners? It would be easy for Chaos, just replacing the Undivided star icon with each Gods insignia based on the banner (and you guys already have God insignias in the game).

    Sweet.

Glad you like it, its something a game as tactical oriented as Eternal Crusade cant do without imo.
You should at all times be aware of what buffs you are under, so you can use the situation to the best of your abilities. In our current state (one icon representing a plethora of completely different buffs that the varied banners offer) the UI is, in a way, hurting the player by not relaying the information about his state in the details that matter.

If im under the Nurgle banner i might run headfirst into an enemy, knowing that im under a banner that buffs my durability so i might survive the run. But i need to know that im actually under that particular banner, which is where the unique UI icons for each banner come from, to relay this information.

apothecary: " brother techmarine a foul xeno weapon have damaged a small piece of a wing decoration on my backpack"

techmarine: "that's a terrible new brother! now i have to replace the entire backpack!"

apothecary: " i can keep the helmet?"

techpriest: " umm i need to check the holy text on the eternalum crusadorum forum.... yes apparently you can"

Icons are considerably faster than reading once you recognise them, as you can register them in your peripheral vision, which you cannot do with a word unless it is dramatically different in appearance to another word and you know in advance what the possible words will be.
