Ah, thank yah jesus. Edit: I hope they update those descriptions later, they seem to miss the point of why one would want to upgrade their pack in the first place.
By the Dark Gods! When i get paid in a week i MIGHT upgrade to sergeant, Khorne will be pleased with me!
So wait, does this no long mean that simply having 80k points puts you at the Sergeant tier? I thought we didn't have these upgrade packs because it was stupidly easy to just buy more RTP points? Or is this just for people's peace of mind because they -really- want the emblem/banner, or just don't know how to read? Could not a purchase of a heresy era weapon + squig bundle + warrior pack put one at 80k points, and thus qualify as Sergeant tier?

The add-on upgrade packs will allow the player access to the exclusive items aswell as the RTP, Just buying RTP will as what you quoted will allow you to upgrade your account level to a higher level to get access to the first module...So in essence the upgrade packs are a better idea then outright buying RTP.
Possibly, but I'd still advise an onlooker to pick up the limited edition item first, long before bothering with these upgrade packs.
