The total war serie is one off my favorite pc franchises and i have played them all since Rome, so the Warhammer total war game is very very high on my hype list.
That looks like a devs build of the game, in that screenshot...oh wait it is... The fact that there are no more known mod folders there (and there are plenty of good and well established mods for TW), and the fact that there's no reason for trying mods on a developers build in the first place...well my hopes just went up astronomically...
I guess only time will tell but I wont belive it till I hear it direct from CA saying "we are making Warhammer Total War (and it will be like Shogun not that POS Empire craptastic*snip*)". TBH if they release anything with Slayers or Gyrocopters or Slayers flying Gyrocopters ill buy it.
It'd be far easier to use the existing game engine, as used in the TW series, than create a new one. The game is being handled by the same studio, the odds are they'll use their existing game engine to build it (much like THQ did with DoWII). If not, Sega would have probably used another studio.
Yeah the odds are but; I'm not repeating myself again. Plus we have completely derailed this thread so lets get it back on topic?
This potential game by CA is cool but still EC is still gonna be the life blood of gamesworkshop. F2P and W40K...simplfied this will be the best game they have coming out in the foreseeable future
Unless EC turns out to be a pile of donkey doo. Unlikely so far, thankfully, even if it (currently) looks like a SM with bells on, it will be enough to hold my interest for a good wee while.
CA is running out of era's to use lol Right now it's either make another sequel or do a fantasy setting. I think this way they believe they can attract more players (CA's fanbase AND GW's)
If there was to be a Warhammer total war, it would probably just be released as DLC or an expansion for Rome 2 and not be an actual standalone game.
I disagree, there's just way too much stuff in Warhammer Fantasy that could be crunched down into a DLC. Or are you saying that they'd just use the same engine and not build it from the ground up?
