The Inquisition works on the logic that anything that strange is probably some warp bullshit that will bite them in the arse. So, they either shoot the problem to death, make someone else shoot the problem to death, or move the problem so far away it ceases to be a problem.

They likely chose option 3, because even when you strip away all the plot armour, taking on an entire chapter of space marines, especially when they can intermittently use soul-fire as a living weapon, is a pretty stupid idea.
