changing the servers is not that easy... because contracts, you know? besides, change to whom? Guess there will always be hickups / downtimes etc. no matter which service/server provider you switch to. And yeah, it would be great if BE could at least inform the players.
They probably dont have someone there who knows how to do it. They dont even put patch notes out because "The patch note guy is not well" Honestly if there food guy was ill they would probably starve, They just dont seem to be able to do much between them and rely on outsourcing most of the stuff.
Actually Houman is off to another program and I seem to recall he had heart issues, no excuse for another to not take his place, truly, but it's a bit dated. Clearly Nathan tried and found it not to his skill set and opted to let it be updated on steam, at the bare minimum.
@ItGetsAllOver Look, what in the blazes would you update it to, what is it that you so desperately want to see when you get in game for the half a second before you click on by to go do whatever?
Its not that Dated given we haven't had patch notes prior to patching, during downtime or even just after patching. Players are often left to find out changes themselves and then a few days later changes are put on steam. The forums which is probably the biggest part of the community gets no update at all. 1. They know what goes into it and they simply cant be bothered to create patch notes. or 2. They have no idea what changes are in each patch with members of the team not communicating and just dumping finished items into a build ready to be deployed, No one knows anything except what they did so patch notes cannot be formed. Either way it is not good.
Houman had a bad reaction to meds that almost killed him. You guys up in arms over patch notes... Give me a break. As for the servers, its an Amazon issue not bE's if you know of a better servers that can provide better service at a reasonable cost feel free to let @Oveur know.
And this is where I go... http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/forums/announcements.2/ ...and this is where I find rather neglected patch note threads.
