Seems like a bad call to launch on a weekend :p

It would be kinda neat to actually have staff available when doing radical changes (F2P would be just that). But it has been stated that this was an AWS issue meaning either Amazon are having problems, or more likely the distributer of this game didn't do their guess work good enough and don't have enough raw server power to scale with the influx of new players.

I get often times the message that I am not able to connect due to my Firewall / Router settings , same as my Friend. Is this linked to the Problem of Server Issue ?
  4. Ebeneezer New Member

    Yeah.
    Just a standard we-can't-connect-you-to-the-game-servers message I'd say

Did you see the new message? They are preparing a "client patch" to solve connection issues, and "will be back in two hours". See you then!

Im usually one of the first on the barricades but please do not mix all these issues up to one big conspiracy.

They have had by all means a desasterous founding. After that they had to launch the game simply because the funds were running dry, this can hardly be blamed on them. It was either make or break and this lead to the same issue now with f2p. You dont need to be a genius to see that the game was in an unhealthy state. To go f2p as soon as possible was the only valid way. Prolonging it while still waiting to fix things or waiting on new features would most likely have not been sustainable.

When they launched f2p they picked by murphys law one of the worst weekends to do so. With major steam and amazon issues - which also other games suffered from.
They promised us compensation in form of RTC which is fine, even huge companies do that because in a full tech world sometimes things break, sometimes stuff messes up and you have to shoulder the fallout.
The point that they didnt know how many new customers would show up and that they were badly prepared still stands and there is little to argue about that. It wasnt the smartest idea to launch right before a weekend- other companies do it at the start of the week (like their patches) so they have time to iron out issues before the usual weekpeak of customers on the weekend happens. However seeing a launchday or week filled with outages and issues is nothing unique to EC. Every major game who got a popularity boost suffered from it. Be it WoW on every expansion launch, D3 on new seasons (in the early days) or even a recently popular title like for honor. These issues will usually calm down in the following 7 days and anyone who plays computergames for awhile is annoyed by them but still knows them. Do not forget that people who did not pay a dollar to get a game are in general not superangry if it doesnt work on the first attempt. especially if they get more free stuff for it and are imformed that there are issues. They will try to login next week and if that doesn't work they will say zog it.

I'm curious why the hell Namco isn’t footing the server bill. They're the ones claiming to publish this game, they're the ones who booted you out of Early Access, and now they think they can just pile all the costs of the operation on bE?

No Gary, what I PAID for was a game. Something that now people who have paid nothing for are literally stopping me playing.

    This is not acceptable.

I expect something I've paid for to be provided or if it can't be I seek compensation/refund.

And I hate to tell you but I do get special rights for backing the game. I get faster EXP gain, I get more advancement points per match etc.

When I paid for the game it was not going f2p. There is a pretty strong argument I could ask for all of my money back.

Now I don't care if the problem effects everyone, I have paid to play a game and I am unable to because of people who have paid NOTHING. Disgraceful.

Not sure I agree with the above post. However steam is now patching and hopefully game will be on again!

Our guild had an event a few minutes ago and while the matchmaking took hours (for unknown reasons, there should be enough players, but whatever) and the servers were stable the whole time. Maybe it is fixed for good.

EDIT: Played with friends until now (3 hours later than post), still running. Appears to be fixed then.
