Well, all things considered Victus' normal MO if he hits a brick wall on a mission where the Imperium itself provides little to know assistance is as follows:
    *Find local Alpha Legion cell.
*Press cell for information that is probably some kind of half truth.
*Spend a while working out which half is the truth.
*Be sad as more of the Imperium is inevitably revealed to be built on some convoluted lie.
*Use said information to complete mission with some hastily constructed, but usually sound plan and do suspiciously well if the odds are stacked against him enough (almost as if something, say, wants him to do well).
*Return to the Alpha Legion cell (either to press them for even more information or to have a bunch of arbites blast 'em) to see they've gone somewhere else and discover some unknown tome sitting around conspicuously for him to find afterwards. Always looks like the same book.
*Leave it behind and know better than to read it... for now.

As I said. The Alpha Legion is often a useful tool to Victus (along with the occasional daemonho-- HERESY! *BLAM!*) if he needs to know... pretty much anything about what's going on at a particular time on a specific planet though he knows that some of the things he manages to do with said info did seem more suicidal than anything to him yet they worked anyway for some reason and even him with his thirst for knowledge would really rather not know the answer to what that reason is. Mainly because it's probably what he thinks it is. In this one instance he'd rather play the denial card and go "I'm just that good." because though he believes the ends justify the means there aren't many others in the Deathwatch who think like that.

Now I've said all that this definitely won't end well for Victus lol. Not doing the poor guy any favours.

I on the other hand have the feeling that everything except being a doormatt incurs the wrath of Necrons.
The whole "You have no reason to honor your words"-point was probally a bad idea, but aside from that I would keep most of my speech.

Keeping the artifact out of your hands is mostly, because @Maensith mentioned at some point in the OOC that the artifacts will be stored at a neutral place. On the other hand it does not make sense to keep the artifact, because we cannot use it.
Well, that is what negotiations are for.

Also to add: We have probably different pictures in our heads:
The Necrons see themselves as beings who shattered gods and now have to negotiate with beind who are seen as young even by Eldar standards.
Sabios sees a group of people, who have a dangerous virus, which is currently spreading, and now idea how to contain it. From his perspective the Necrons do not have much choice.

Having a bit of a hard time thinking what exactly my next post will be.

Time to launch several hundred Armsmen through Teleportarium to be slaughtered :D, but Kanilla hasnt posted yet, i.e. await for his reaction on the events being unfolded right now (khornates' vessel being bombarded)

    Fair 'nuff.
  7. Schalli Schalli Well-Known Member

Why board, if the enemy has no weapons?
  8. Victus Jammysod Well-Known Member

Because Armsmen are an easy, expendable resource to use to work out what is on board the ship. Such a nice guy I am. Plus the future worshippers of Tzee-- HERESY! *BLAM!* ahem... the Imperials don't know that as far as I know. :p

  9. I believe it's because the ship has no power, and thus, no communications available to the Sword of Orion. While we know it's filled with the enemy, it still looks like a battered Imperial vessel at this point, and the bridge crew probably want to figure out if the ship is friend or foe.

There's also the fact that a crippled ship warps into the system, looking battered and bruised, and suddenly, a strange vessel shows up, cripples the engines of our ships, and starts harassing.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone concluded this new foe chased after the damaged ship, and are looking to finish off loyal imperials.

I thought I already posted. Something along the lines of allowing him to proceed while I had the crew get status reports and return power, as well as getting all crew to battlestations.
