The only ones to hear the full plan would have been in the briefing room. The subordinates would have gotten a less informative brief. Going by normal military standards. So it would be those leaders that would take the long sleep during a public execution to deter any further attempts.

No that was the full plan, the only ones that were supposed to hear it would be the leaders and of course the space marines if they were present.
The Alpha Legion does not operate out of the eye of terror, so there is only taint due to warp-travel, which everyone gets. Of course Alpha Legionaires are older and thus have a higher number of jumps, but we might have better Geller-fields (the 30k version). Or we could just assign a younger marine to the mission (like ~200 years, which is still rather old for current space marines). For comparing the geneseed Victus would need a sample of another marine of the chapter, preferrable more, because deviations happen. Most chapters would not like to depart from their geneseed. Also it might not be possible to addign a certain geneseed to a specific chapter. Chapters with mutations like the Black Dragons are easy, but good look finding the difference between an Ultramarine and a White Consul. Just assigning a Space Marine their founding legion is probably extremely difficult as there would not be many chapters, whose origins are unknown. So I think it would require huge ressources to falsify a Alpha Legion spy based on his geneseed, even before any modifications to it. No idea, if the Alpha Legion has acces to those, but they have plastic chirugy, which can fool family members, so they might have. I could also just cheat and use a spy with a non-Alpha Legion geneseed as those often get recruited/stolen due to problems with the geneseed of Alpha Legionaires. I only looked over the new IC-posts and it seems like I got a spy gifted by @Maensith . Well, you can always use more spies. I will now catch up with the OOC thread and leave the IC for tomorrow.
