Kind of assuming this question hasn't been asked yet in the 20+ page thread but would it be reasonable to have an Astartes who is currently in the Deathwatch?
Hi. Although I'm not an expert in space marines lore, as far as I know Deathwatch teams operate strictly in super-secretive squads and hence it's unlikely that a single space marine from a Deathwatch squad would join our diverse group. Besides, we have several xenos in our group, including the eldar Phoenix Lord, Jain Zar, who is actually one of the leaders, and given an extreme level of hatred towards any xenos (which greatly exceeds xenophobia of ordinary space marines or many inquisitors), I cant even think what would be an incentive for a Deathwatch space marine to cooperate with xenos. But you can prove me wrong . If I found an acceptable reason to bring Necrons and Eldar together in a temporary and unsteady, but alliance nevertheless, may be even your space marine might somehow find his place amongst us?
(Using the Deathwatch PnP game as a reference here) Well, in the Deathwatch there are also Kill Marines who essentially act as a one man Kill Team and, if it helps in a much bigger goal (still using said game as a reference) some Deathwatch Marines are willing to negotiate with and/or team up with xenos or even the forces of Chaos on some occasions so you could quite easily get away with grouping up a perfectly loyal Deathwatch Marine with numerous xenos and members of the Alpha Legion. Can't put a price on maybe saving the Emperor.
I see...very well, waiting for your char's sheet. N.B. According to the RP's plot, you'll be travelling aboard an imperial cruiser along with your fellow warriors operated by the other players (just a quick note).
Name: Brother Victus, Deathwatch Kill Marine (formerly the Dark Angels 10th Company Apothecary) Primary weapon: MK IX Ultra Pattern sniper rifle. Secondary Weapon(s): Mars Pattern Inferno Pistol Astartes Combat Knife Grenades: 2 frag grenades 2 krak grenades Other gear: Auspex Deathwatch Scout Armour Personality: Studious and relatively quiet, Victus often spends more of his time between missions studying the various traitors and xenos that assail the Imperium so that he is always aware of how best to recognise, influence and exterminate them should he encounter them and they prove to be problematic. However his studious nature can sometimes manifest itself as a worrying thirst for forbidden knowledge that should just remain buried for the good of everyone. His loyalties lie less with the Imperium itself or the Emperor but more to its people and humanity as a whole. History: Victus was the Apothecary of the Dark Angels 10th company. A veteran of over 200 years of constant battle with the scout company, his medical skill and aptitude for stealth and survival that he had built up over the last two centuries made him a good candidate for being a Kill Marine when he was sent to join the Deathwatch. Since joining the Deathwatch as a Kill Marine Victus has developed a much more sympathetic view of the common man of the Imperium due to being forced to rely on them on many occasions but he is still quite distrustful towards most non-Astartes due to how easily many of them seem to fall to Chaos or Xenos influence.
TBH I didn't really want to risk going too overkill on equipment. Plus he is more used to working alone (or at least not around other Space Marines) due to currently being a Kill Marine and I have a hard time picturing how one would use a narthecium on themselves. So it's more that in the context of what he's normally been doing that he wouldn't expect to need such a tool. Besides, just because he doesn't have that equipment doesn't Mean he can't still heal others, it would just mean that giving a power armoured Space Marine medical attention would be much more difficult due to said armour. Lastly I think you actually need to have power armour on for the tools to actually be powered and function so it would be unfortunately useless to him anyway due to the fact he's wearing scout armour.
You have some preference on how your character will be brought to the RP's leaders - it's not mandatory, I already have ideas, but may be you have something in mind? I want to RP this moment as well so that players' characters dont suddenly appear in front of the Phoenix Lord and the Alpha Legion's veteran and start working together, this needs to look realistic and plausible - after all, I assemble xenos, loyalists, necrons and traitors together, not just some group of the Eldar from the same craftworld - and hence your "meeting" should look realistic, plausible in terms of warhammer 40k entourage
