@BruticusTheGoreHound not sure how you make such long posts. That last one was long enough to leave me pretty spent. *dies from mental exhaustion* x.x
  2. Honestly I just write what I feel. Not sure how they end up that long either, just end up posting and thinking I might have rambled on a bit much.

Something came up, I'm not gonna be able to post for a while. I think you have a good grasp on the Lord Commissar until I can return.

As far as I know, the only way for Necrons to travel vast space distances is through the Dolmen Gates and Eldar Webway accordingly, so to get to the coordinates given to you by Sabios you'll still need to activate the Dolmen Gate

And you're cunning enough to place the artefact into the Chamber of Tranquility :D, albeit you missed one point - the Webway is both part of the Warp AND separate from it at the same time, so your protection against any potential psychic intrusion is flawed - were you to travel through the Warp purely you'd have been absolutely protected from any psychic manifestation, but you'are about to travel through the Webway with its own laws :)

How dare you write such riduclous posts while I'm not looking! The prison of Tranquility, for all intents and purposes exists on a completely different plane of existance! Another dimension in fact! anything in it should not in any form exist in our current plane, even if its the webway! (rant over)
Oh well you're the GM, so you have every right to screw with Okantakht's toys, but don't expect this one to back down so easily. I may or may not have some suprises in my deep deep collection....:D

That's true, and if Jain Zar wanted to reach some other artefact, not of Eldar origins, she would have failed because none of them have Eldar psychic "signature", if you prefer, i.e. this beacon served as a small connection between your dimension and the Webway - considering that such things as psychic manipulations are extremely complex and various in their forms such a possibility can be allowed to exist

For instance, technically, any of the Necrons' "dimensions" are another layers of the material universe, just like the Webway is a separate part of the Warp, they are simply more alien and ordered than the Warp known as Chaos, because basically there are 2 fundamental planes of existence - material universe and the Warp, the other dimensions lie in confines of one of these two, no matter how various they are. Considering that your ship is currently in the Webway and is literally soaked with its energies, your pocket dimension, granted an object hidden within it has a proper psychic trail, can be extracted by proper means, basically because there are no strictly set rules of various dimensions coexistence and interaction in wh40k lore - again, as an example, C'tan werent supposed to penetrate the Webway at all since they are masters of the material universe, not the Warp, but one of the Star Gods did manage to get into the Webway by inventing Dolmen Gate

Even then an Eldar should be unable to pinpoint the location of Okantakht's ship by simply confirming the location of the artifact, since the location of the artifact i it's dimension would not change.
But I think we are on the illustrious way to lore-interpretation here, I don't think there is any actual canon material considering the issue at hand, and that's why I will just roll with your post for now:D

Just on a sidenote: when there is the material realm on one side, and the warp on the other, do you think there is more than these two? I always thought the pocket dimensions of the necrons was proof for this concept, is there anything at all about it in actual lore?
  10. Maensith Subordinate

No, there are no proofs of this theory and it's very hard, almost impossible, to strictly demark where the Warp and material universe end and another dimensions start. I thought it's logical that, since Necrons' science was superior in exploring the structure of the material universe, any of their dimensions belong to the material universe as well, they just dig "deeper" into its structure than any other race, just like C'tan are masters of the material universe and, I assume, they influenced Necrons's scientific development at some period of time.

The same applies to Eldar - commorraghans have their own pocket dimensions as well, but since Eldar race prevailed in exploring the Warp any of their dimensions are just another separate planes of existence within the Warp itself.

Actually this is an extremely complicated question since there are many different mystical concepts which Black Library authors drew inspiration from while creating wh40k lore - I'd simply assume that there are just 2 planes of existence - the Warp and the material universe, and these two great planes of existence contain their own "layers", which can either be separate from their "parental" dimension or not.
