Take a step back and breathe for a minute, please. The purpose of the Founders' gear isn't to be better than standard kit, just to be different. It may be more suited to one application or another than non-Founders' stuff, but the changes will (as far as I've been led to believe) limit the usefulness of the object for other purposes. I agree that Founders items should not be "god items" or "I-win buttons;" just because they may excel at on aspect or another doesn't mean that they will be all-powerful and unable to be matched by elements available to everyone. I can't be sure who all read the first post and who hasn't, but I'd like to quote it here because I think some of you have the wrong impression of the intended implementation. So yes, there will be gear intended for people who throw money at the Founders pack. Yes, they will have slightly different stats. HOWEVER, aside from slightly different performance, the Founders pack weapons will remain primarily differentiated from standard gear by their LOOKS rather than their inherent power.
The thing is that I didn't address what will be done in the released founder pack, but the mere fact that they asked us for unique gameplay elements for founders. That's the title of the freaking thread, you cannot misunderstand that. Unique gameplay elements, no matter how you express it, it's that, unique gameplay, something that not everybody will be able to get during the game. I don't care if it's overpowered or underpowered. We are not talking about a pet, about emoticons, nor even about aesthetics kill-moves, we are talking about exclusive gameplay for a limited amount of players. That's rubbish. P2W means pay to win, and is loathed because of what it means, but even if something doesn't make you win, it's equially horrible if it differentiate players in something more than the aesthetical part. I have defended the exp boost because it doesn't give you anything that you cannot get while playing. I have defended the "faction buying" side, the "free-to-play" orks, the "less powerfull, already in-game weapons on the cash shop". I can even defend the "new classes only in the cash shop". But "Exclusive, limited founder classes"? No. No because it's not only "pay for exclisive gameplay", is the "limited, one time only" gameplay that seems absolutely disgusting. It's like creating a new way of messing things up. Just don't. It's that easy, don't. Aesthetics? Sure. But gameplay elements? Stay the hell away from that.
I'd really like to see a couple different epic "vanity" skins with absolutely no stats, that can used OVER you equipped armor. A couple per faction for the founders. Much like the devs implemented later on in Warhammer Online, where you basically had 2 equipment puppets for your character. One puppet was your actual battle armor(with stats), to include your equipped weapon. The second puppet you could equip the items you wanted to be seen on your character(these items werent actually equipped, just their artwork rendered over your battle armor). I'm thinking battle totems for the Orks(worn on the back), Hooded Cloaks that go over your armor for Dark Angels, the transverse Roman Centurion helmet plume and Roman skirt(Pteruges) for Ultramarines, massive over the shoulder wolf pelts, wolf heads over the shoulder armor, leather masks over the helm for Space Wolves, ect, ect. Possibly some Pre Heresy armor sets as well. Again, no stats on each armor piece, but the armor pieces are worn as a skin over your equipped battle gear. You could also overlay a skin over your weapons, as long as they were of the same weapon type.(axe skin over you battle axe, staff skin over your battle staff). And bling! lots of bling! Oversized bling hanging from the waist, blingy cloaks, capes, ect...
However, Gold Ammo can be brought with in-game Credits at the ratio price of Gold = Credits (1 gold is 400 credits) so technically it isn't pay to win as -everyone- has access to it.
Why ?! everyone can get the ammo in the end, those that dont want/have money can grind and those that have can buy it so where is the problem? Is it perhaps that those that buy the ammo get to experience something different? do you mind explain to us what it is?
I think people should chill out a bit, the game looks fine the way it is, they just need to make sure the frames are good and the hits hurt.
it's the model of gw2 and ps2 maybe someone don't like the model but it can't be considered p2w (but some people still tell is p2w)
