I thought it was absolute garbage, completely diluted the idea of an Astartes, the plot was terrible despite Abnett being a fantastic top tier author. It was exactly what GW usually say to reason them shutting down fan-made editions of their copyright, it made the products look shit. Voice acting was fine though.
The person behind that movie, was actually just a student, doing it all on his home computers, when he started releasing first clips and screens, he finished his study, and someone from crytek saw his stuff, and they offered him job, thats why the movie was put on hold for aprox 2-3 months, until he moved to crytek and got settled to continue working on movie! Now there are some more people that help with making models and stuff! Cant wait for it to come out!
I enjoyed it because hey...Space Marines! But frankly it looked like an old videogame CG and there wasn't much depth to the storyline.
To be honest, i liked the appearance of the power armour in the Ultramarines movie, though their faces looked a bit shit but overall the movie was alright, the plot was rather generic but the voice acting was good, I think it's an okay movie, but nothing special.
This. It is beyond me why they would produce a feature movie and then have it look like a CGI from the late nineties. Particularly after stomping fan projects of more than acceptable quality.
I liked that the guy we thought to be the weakest link and totally gun' be a traitor ended up being the heroic protagonist who smacks a Daemon Prince with a thunderhammer.
It was a good first attempt at a 40k Movie but I felt it needed to be 1. Longer 2. Less filler Maybe 30 minutes of the film was just walking around, it wasn't really the most stimulating thing to watch and the story wasn't really that stellar either. I'd love to see them do another though.
It was alright but I absolutely hated how they portrayed the Chaos. Every Chaos Space Marine is an equal to a regular Space Marine in nearly every way, so why would they charge like mindless fodder?
