So when Q3A released it's update that nerfed the LG too hard and professional Quake players were in uproar alongside other members of the community before the changes were reverted because of said uproar, I guess that was justified too and the opinions of players with exceptional experience in the changed field in question should be laughed at? Is this what you're suggesting? If so, rofl.
Quake is not comparable to this game. Stick to things relevant to this game, Quake is not one of them.
what drives away the players is the non existant matchmaking/ranking system and lack of content , not the balance
Um, it is entirely relevant. Specific weapon is nerfed (Bolter/LG), players with exceptional experience speak out against it, except in this instance you imply that we "rely" on this live server Bolter to do well with your post which is why we're speaking out so much. That's not even remotely close to the reason. We speak out because they're bad changes, and we know it. Do you have a single clue about how much CQC play is involved in this game for Tacticals because of how the points are laid out? Do you have a single clue as to how this will change the game entirely for Attackers and Defenders in general? Shitty hipfire and worse DPS = more benefit for Defenders as pushing in becomes harder and slower due to the shittier circumstances it requires you to reliably hit players in the head/chest midrange for Attacker players that have a Bolter. That's not even the tip of the iceberg. I have 1500+ hours of Tactical on this game and speak out against these changes for a reason my dude.
Do you realize what you're saying when you say that? You're giving further reason to make the class less desired overall to promote playing other classes more. If you look at Eldar (though a bit of a bad example, but still..) the majority play widely varied classes, at times to the dismay leading to nobody playing dire avengers and nobody caps objectives because of it. If everyone played the one and same class all the time, there'd be no need for the other classes, and that should be a fairly obvious sign that something is wrong. Do I want the bolter to be nerfed? No, clearly not, I want to use it in it's current live state.. but I'm willing to see what comes of it, because if the game is as dead as folks claim, it doesn't matter does it? Devs can just play around with things for a bit of variety while the game itself screams while dying.
No, I'm not giving further reason to make the class less desired overall just because I play it a lot. There's people who have mained one class for longer than I have on a Tactical, regardless of power level of said class. Think Jencent on Power Fist, Antheus on JPA, Sigvald on Sorc etc. I specify that I have that many hours because people who try to argue balance have only played not even 1/15th of that time on a Tactical and generally have the wrong idea about how to properly balance a weapon. The UAT Bolter is not a good redesign of the weapon, plain and simple. I hate repeating myself so you or anyone else reading this can go read my previous posts here to see why I think this way. I've always said hipfire needs nerfing, but not to this degree, let alone with an RPM/DPS rebalance. It's fine how it is on Live, it just needs CQC Barrel removed, we go back to Heavy Barrel/Stabilizing Grip, and we adjust hipfire then and ONLY hipfire then, because that would be the only problem to arise from it. These changes of DPS, RPM, hipfire accuracy all at once are not necessary to make the weapon in-line with others. All these current changes do is make the weapon feel clunky, hipfire useless all-around which for this game's design is a horrible idea to do, and make melee fights that much more challenging even though they're already stupid given the current state of Tactical when it comes to fighting in melee.
Why are we making weapons harder to use when almost every player in this game has the accuracy of someone with Parkinson's If just being used is a reason to nerf something we better nerf the Shoota and Twin-Linked Shuriken Catapult too because those are generally used 90% of the time except by retards who want to be unique or don't want to contribute to winning (Like people who use Stalkers @ProteusVM and Grav guns) I always thought weapons not having recoil was the idea since this IP appeals to people who still play board games
Yes much uproar is noted and just thinking of all the team kills to come due to decreased accuracy makes me squirm. Plasma cannon was OP - nerfed? - check Kannon was OP - nerfed? - check All manor of Choppy and Krumpy stuff was OP - nerfed? - check Everything Eldar was OP - nerfed? - check, check, check and check Skip Launcher was OP . . . . . Bolter was OP - UBER DENIAL! - you can nerf my bolter if you can take it from my cold dead hands! We must laugh or we'd cry I suppose. Time for us to brush up our skills on the Plasmagun in lieu of what hell may come post patch.
I disagree with the first two paragraphs. The bolter doesn't need to be good close range, that's what other weapons/classes are for. Such as storm bolter, or any melee class. Though, if the bolter is getting nerfed for close range, the Xenos races will have a huge advantage. That needs to change, one way or another. If you're nerfing the bolter, you need to nerf Ork's shootas and Eldar's shuriken catapults. Changing hip fire for both of those types of weapons might suffice.
