DLB held several matches where we did nothing but use the Skip Launcha. We - almost entirely consisting of rank 6 orks - lost to several LSM pug-teams consisting almost entirely of rank 1/2/3s. After that, just to prove a point, whoever could put on the Challenge Token, everyone grabbed a naked Slugga Boy with a standard Choppa and a Slab Slugga (No armor, no trinkets, absolutely nothing spent on any sort of defence or lethality) and promptly won several matches. That was all during this patch.
Its not that bad when combined with the new Life Steal wargear Banshees can get. And one day I hope it can be modded.
what i meant was you're much better off going basic or master crafted with impact mod. impact has always been king and with this newest update especially it's becoming rare as Eldar to last long enough in prolonged melee until your weapon will go through 150 points of durability. Either put out the extra 20 w/ MC sword or save 80 points w/ basic. sorry for OT, off i go
I would agree about the MC + impact but for the fact that fists still seem to be the only melee weapon being used right now. The MC sword doesn't really seem to have quite enough durability to be able to get consistently in the requisite 2 d bashes to kill a fister. 150 seems like the ticket, esp. since the Ebon Blade is currently the only 150 durability sword that still has 113 fast attack damage. That said, yeah, in any other situation I would rather have the impact mod on a regular PSword. But Eldar players so often complain about higher impact tier weapons. Ebon Blade in this current build looks like a big ticket for that specific purpose of dealing with high impact tier weapons. My criteria is basically - I want to be able to d bash twice plus a clang, or ideally clang twice plus two d bashes before a break.
