It was nice playing with it today on the fortess event. But man... I miss the old 6 shot days. That was insane. It was like our own secret VSB that most people completely disregarded. 200 dmg headshots, TTK of like 1.4 sec when point blank, and getting the 6 in one headshots were much easier than doing the same thing with an ASC in a brawl. But if you are going to use it. Be warned, it is a lot tougher to do well than the ASC by a long shot. You'll probably think it's utter garbage for awhile until it you get a handle on it's strengths and weaknesses. Also muscle memory...
Eldar changes ignore very important facts, like DA ASC being equal to bolter up to 12 meters and inferior above that, making close range specialist just as good as all range generalist. Dark reaper shuri cannon got same DPS as HB, but reaper got 1/6 EHP less. All GAs got armor buffs, but banshee and scorp didn't. There are way too many instances where eldar disadvantages are underlined and perks ignored.
I frames. Take Crimson Banshee icon and keep jumping through sustained fire, you WILL survive it, but you'll take more then a few nicks in the process. I take lifeleech to salve those wounds and then do it again, it's only really bad when fighting multiple enemy melee, otherwise you want to always take it over armor.
This right here is what concerns me the most. Closing into melee yesterday was a real nightmare. Hopefully the Devs will address this somehow. Personally I'd like to see the Banshee Scream be more effective and suppressing/interrupting ranged weapons. That would justify them being at the front of an assault. As for the Scorp I get the feeling that in order to be viable players are really going to have to go for broke using their heavy attack from stealth bonus dmg. Can't develop an opinion at this point though because their weapons have not been upgraded yet and using 96 vs 120 pen is significant enough to really give me a false impression of what'll they'll be like. You are going to love the 40% lifesteal on Vet Banshee's. It's seems to be a lot tougher to reach melee now (this was a fortress map however, and likely much much tougher for banshees than normal). But once you get there, they still excel at the elegant murdering of their hapless victims. Even more so than before.
On banshes who are true ground assaults and supposed to be a front line character i agree but on scorpion i dont they are supposed to use flanking and surprise just like jpa and if jpa cant have staying power beign a flanking class scorpions cant either.
Wait so these new items are class specific and for the vet version only? And your complaining about their efficiency vs something that goes on any class vet or not?
That my problem with them in this game, the point is they get to combat using stealth then basically act like a brawler but in this game they are boring wow rouge clones who cant function depending on someone's graphical settings... I mean what they basically wear better(lighter) power armour! the fact they wear power armour imo is reason enough for them to get a similar buff since the other ground assault wear the same type of armour and all Eldar got a health penalty not amour so they would still be squish.
Yeah but them wearing power armor means nothing in this game as seen on uat jpa wich wears power armor and has 25 base armor points.....
Yup I my main Eldar but even I find it stupid, ruined any chance for me to main Apothecary now, hoping for Techmarines to arrive now since my second favorite marine unit is squish
