Tyranids probably won't have a fleet in orbit so, no spores... trygons' tunnels could bring the nids though
warriors can out melee assault marines and out shoot tacticals, and even devastators in some cases. they should be more powerful than a single marine. also--lictors. those guys better be scary as hell. they strike from out of nowhere, and in addition they have their damn pheromone trail.
I think another thing that would be pretty cool is escalation. So say you are defending against a Tyranid invasion and you have been unable to fully exterminate them from the area. As time goes on more and more Tyranids poor out as well as more powerful units start to emerge. Termagaunts and Hormagaunts mainly to start with but as time goes on have warriors, lictors, raveners, and finally something like a carnifex or trygon.

I agree with the 10:1 ratio myself. That would be most ideal I think but due to the frame rate issues that would cause I'm willing to settle for 3:1 lol.
Would love to see a combo of stealth and swarm, like say we have a small brood of gene stealers infiltrate the outpost and kind of "tests the water" based on who's there and what weapons they have then it's like a race for reinforcements seeing if whoever a there can call in enough friends and then they swarm, thousands of of tyranids appear from all sides crashing through the walls or trygons Burrowing in with more swarms. Once inside they move with that single purpose to single out the better players and try to cut them off from others. Then say reinforcements arive, an enemy race or worse case scenario, the tyranids
warriors are a good deal taller than marines. actually, i would say they are about as tall as primarchs. but yeah, good suggestions.
