Two things concerning me right now (Not counting the memory leak)

    1. As a melee, if someone stuns me, then sprints away. I can still catch them just spamming fast attack. The lunge for all melee attacks allows me to cover more distance than a sprinter. Needless to say, I rip them apart. No way for the ranged guys to extend away from me.

    2. My ork klaw will stop a full speed rhino in the middle of the road. Then I keep it perma stunned after that. Me, solo, just stopped a few tons worth of vehicle..and I "stun" it. :) Funny, but broken mechanic. Oh, if I'm lucky I can actually toss the Rhino like a rag doll.

    I'll throw in a bonus:

    3. My melee attacks will stop/interrupt a SM/CSM/Eldar from shooting...but their shots do nothing to make me pause or interrupt me. Needless to say I rip them apart.

    Why do I tell ya all this? I like my games balanced and fun. Maybe devs will fix.

  3. I honestly think this game would have been better without melee at this point even if that removes much of what Warhammer is about.

    1. The lunging is just awful, even if you defensive bash an enemy you can only continue to fight because you will not create enough distance to get away. If you are not a melee class, good luck.

    2. A simple fix would be diminishing returns or if we had customizable loadouts and vehicle perks some sort of defensive slot.

    3. The TTK of most guns cannot compete with one or two shot melee so if a melee is in your face you really have no chance. It doesn't help that melee attackers basically don't have to aim as the game does it for you.

    Al valid points and again, it's due to the awful melee system. I'm not saying it's easy to implement a balanced melee and shooter game but this current one is just simply frustrating.

    Yeah the weapon lockout might be too long but there will be problems for melee when devestators get to fire in melee. For all others not so bad since its trading more melee damage for some decent ranged damage.

    A plasma cannon snap shot will fuck someones day up in close quarters if they can fire while being hit in the face with a melee weapon.

    Imo best melee is just go with moving fast and having free swing instead of preset animations. Too late for that now though.
  6. I don't think anyone is advocating being able to shoot while actively being attacked in melee but ranged fire should do something, anything to slow or hinder them from just closing the gap.

    I agree, just pointing out the difficulty of balancing it for both sides in that case. Probably would take a few horrible patches to get it right lol

    Rolling doesn't work either for anyone other than Eldar. Fast attack lunge goes the same distance and has no pause afterward. So if the ranged marine/ork, say, rolls out of the way of a strong attack, it didn't actually save him because the fast attack afterward is guaranteed to hit him. He can't run, he can't D-bash, he can't use another roll, he can't even clang

  10. The stun is so brief that the ranged basher doesn't even have enough time to use it as an advantage in melee, instead of just trying to escape. What I'm saying is, if you bash a meleer, the stun is so short you can't really punish them with follow up swings.
