Nobody said that it would be 1:1 planetside 2. So if they have a scoreboard doesn't mean EC will have one.
K/D Scoreboards are in my opinion for arena/match shooter like battlefield etc. Unfortunetly EC is getting into this state but its not what the main idea behind EC is. Its maybe nice to give us some variety but in my eyes its better to take that time and use it on the main things.

    I'm totally with you.

I think we had already a discussion about a scoreboard in the past.

  2. Well, can you point to a game that managed that in a good way? I haven't heard of one yet.

The more game modes they can have the better,

Im down for having a Score board, I like to know who is contributing, and who I may want to play with as team based games, I'm not interested in your 10/1 KDR if you have a 12% win ratio, so I say Down with showing people your K/D but show me your score, and make team work and supporting each other what really gets your score up, reviving, dropping ammo, supporting/assisting in kills are what make a team A TEAM OF AWSOME .

That said limit the amount of ammo or death farming to 3 times, sorry but im not down for seeing people with 1000 point scores cause they farmed each other, when every one that played the map properly only got 100 scores, Just my opinion.

how an open world game can have "game mode"?

First I want to say that I agree with both of you dudes. This is a team game.
But some player may need that little incentive. They may feel better knowing how they are performing compared to others.... In my humble opinion of course . ;)

I have nothing against comparing scores, but I'm saying do it in a different way. For example: Renegade X tallies score depending on how much damage you're doing to the enemy as whole (so players, buildings, and vehicles), how much you're healing your own team (players, buildings, and vehicles), and there's a bunch of examples of gaining higher scores for capturing points, defending points, ect. from other games.

So really here's an example list of things to keep track of in EC:

Ranged Damage hit // Suppression: 1 points per hit / 2 points if suppressed.
    Kill: 100 points.
Assist: Up to 50 points depending on % damage dealt. (so you could still get 99-198 points if you dealt 99% of the damage (see above))
Point Defense Bonus: +10% for assists +25% for kills.
Point Assault Bonus: +20% for assists, +50% for kills.
Melee: +50% points to kill, +25% to assist (counts vehicles)
    Execution: 100 points.
    Hero/Elite - +50%, +25% to kill.

    Tacticals:
    Point decap: 150 points
    Point Capture: 500 points.
    Point Assist: 150 points.

    Vehicle Kill: 300 points
    Vehicle Assist: 100

    Heals:
HoT: 1 point per heal, + 2 for Vehicles.
Heal Assist (Player you were healing kills an enemy): Counts as assist.

Not comprehensive, but now we have an idea of how score's would be kept. I mean, after all, if you and a buddy are a healer and a tactical.. what's the point of you two keeping score of a K/D? Again, if you wanted to know, I feel as though it should be a button toggle on the UI, otherwise, keep it as a conglomerate score.

An assault is what happens after a siege. You siege a place, break down its walls, and then you assault it.

At least that's what I think that means.

Assault just means "physical attack"; it's a very generic word. Assaults tend to happen before, during, and after sieges

I'm thinking about in context of the game though.

We know they have maps where their are gates and walls etc. that can be destroyed. I'm wondering if those are 'siege', and assaults is a capture point mode. Siege would be more 'do this thing'.

See, "Do this thing" is not very descriptive. One could say that "do this thing" for a siege is knocking down a door and then taking a series of points - rather than what I think you're trying to convey is that a siege is just the act of knocking down somebodies door - which is somewhat of a lackluster game mode imo, as it's literally just a bunch of people shooting either at each other or a door before a clock strikes 0.
