What TTK are you even talking about... actually EVERY SINGLE WEAPON in EC has more than 0.5 second (And those are rare) even TTK. What you see is lag and latency and the TTK has nothing to do with that. People are perfectly able to react in time and the "twitch skills" make a huge difference since you're wrong when you say the TTK of any weapon is close to 0.20 seconds with the exception of instagib weapons!
I guess it just depends on your play style. I play Ork and Eldar and I find Eldar definitely more effective. Yes Orks are tough. But if you keep moving Eldar are definitely a bad beast.
Literacy harder please .... i never said a weapon killed in .2 seconds i Said THE STUDY was just to click the mouse takes about .22 seconds for you to JUST CLICK THE MOUSE ... obviously reacting to a weapon shooting you in EC has more steps and actions than a single mouse click it generally involves rolling in a direction and reorienting your crosshair ..... im saying THE FASTEST you could just click the mouse is almost half the time of a present top tier ranged TTK weapon. Never mind the notorious latency many people are experiencing, and the fact that you have to do more than single click the mouse to dodge and win a surprise encounter against you........ actually read what was posted instead of making your own silly story that wasn't what i said.
You obviously didn't read what he said. Autocannon TTK is well under 1s. Let's say 0.7s, That's 3 shots if fired against an unprepared target: the first shot hits; the target reacts. That's 399 damage, easily enough to kill all but the tankiest target. So first off you have your automatic reaction time. That's 0.2s just to do anything. Let's be kind and say the best players are working off muscle memory entirely and add nothing for decision-making time. Now, you're an EU player playing on a US server. That's another 0.2s for latency. 0.4s total, which is another Autocannon shot you cannot possibly avoid, leaving you with 0.3 seconds to avoid the next shot which will kill you if it hits.
I mean I did get what he said but it was my fault for being drunk and forgetting to clarify what I meant, plus that latency STILL exists no matter how close you are to the server and the speed to click on a mouse and all that. But you see, you have to account for the fact that an autocannon won't really kill it's target under 1 second. Most of the time at least. Since I am perfectly able to survive multiple times when I was surprise shot by an autocannon since he landed 1 hit before I managed to get to cover and that is because it's not accurate enough to kill at any range longer than medium, under 1 second. If the autocannon was braced only then would the TTK be possibly more or less 1 sec. But as you know even that is sometimes hard if the target is moving, + the visible innacuracy penalty and the fact you have to land 3 shots under 1 second without stopping. Personally I've never experienced any weapon other than lascannon or a plasma ball that I haven't been able to avoid in some way...
The thing here is about what types of skill do we want the game to promote. I certainly would prefer if the idea of a one-man hero was restricted to Veterans and people with 1000 LP invested into "lethality"(currently neither possible nor viable), rather than any assholes sneaking about corners.
I believe the TTK is perfect in this game, and this comes from a noob who rarely gets past the middle of the scoreboard in terms of kills ! The TT game has the reverse problems of having too many unkillable units BTW (even though OC the comparison between a TT game and a video game isn't worth much). Fluff wise we wield deadly weapons, not scrawny puny laspistols !! In a dark future there is only war people !
Yeah, me too. The most recent pet peeve of mine is how unrealistically(for 40k) Power Fists and Klaws are used here. Well, most of melee, but it is extra visible with those two. I mean...when you see a bunch of Nobs using PKs, you don't see them mucking around in shadows or around corners, do you? You often see them charging enemies and then proceeding to just rip/split them. I mean, just look at DoW2(or DoW1). I mean...sneaking around with a Power Klaw, ambushing people lol. I mean, why not? It's just unorthodox.
It's just sad how these weapons are basically laughing stock now just to make them balanced and available for everyone. I would love to see them buffed and turned into veteran-only weapons.
Ahem. Dire Avengers loose TTK races against literally every other ranged capper assuming approximately equivalent builds. Whether or not you win or loose a TTK-race isn't the be-all and end-all of balance, of course, but the idea that Eldar somehow have a favourable TTK situation is... wrong. That's a factor of the gameification, I think. Look at a Battlefield game or even something 'realistic' like Red Orchestra 2 or ARMA. Full of people ninja-ing around looking for ambush points and the like.
