TTK from what we have seen thus far.

How do you feel about the TTK from what we have seen thus far?

    After watching the stream that Angry Joe did and also watching the last stream I figured I would post this. The TTK from now to launch may change a bit but I figured that I could post this and get a general stance of those who have only had the chance to observe the TTK.

    From my opinion the TTK seems a little short.. Not by much mind you but I've seen multiple instances of .5-1 second deaths which give little to no time to react to being shot this could just be lag or focus fire from multiple people it's hard to tell. The melee seems to have a higher TTK than a ranged kill which I find kinda odd. Regardless I know it's going to change quiet a bit over the next few months but in it's current state ranged seems just a tad to quick while melee seems to be just right.

    Anyway opinions.

    I think it's too hard to make a definitive decision this early in, balance like that can come in beta.

    This isn't supposed to be a definitive decision about the damage but a your impressions of it currently. We all know that the balance is subject to huge changes between now and launch.

    It might benefit from a slight buff. Not that much now but when Plasma, Power Fists and the like start rolling out which should kill faster then things we currently play with its gonna be a very different ballpark.

    Dont envy them on balancing that.

    we still have to see a lot of deadly weapon and powers a more longer TTK can give more "space" for give each weapon the right place

    The TTK needs to be longer, it feels short enough as it is even with -basic- weapons.
  7. If classical str: 8-10 weapons are going to instant kill, basic weapons in the 3-5 str range need to be much less effective. I don't have a problem with lascannon and powerfists being one hit wonders, but that means everything else needs to be slowed WAY down.

  8. And we also have to keep in mind that there will be more players per map in future and the devs want to emphasize teamplay. What would I need teamplay for if I can kill everything in a Rambo style from the looks of the streams. Sure you should be able to kill and survive as a lone wolve, but maybe with a more specialized loadout and not that easy. More like an opportunist using the distraction of two opposing squads.
    So the TTK we are seeing now would be fine for me if 2-4 members of a squad are focussing on that person with normal bolters and bodyhits. But this needs to be tested. The devs could double the TTK for a couple of days and see the feedback afterwards how this has changed gameplay...and I guess these things can be changed and tweaked anytime throughout alpha and beta
