Then avoid guilds like that. There is plenty of guilds with good sportsmanship around here. Hit for the known and big ones, not some random no names.
You're not wrong for not wanting to see or hear it, that's perfectly fine. What you are wrong for is wanting to silence them or prevent them from speaking in order to accomplish that. One method lets you filter what you see and hear and doesn't force others to change; the other is a literal tool of tyranny. This is exactly what I was suggesting. Hooray! We're in agreement. I like how you call me a troll, but then you go on to repeat the suggestions I've made about globalchat for the last half year. You know, it's still plagiarism if you claim an original work as yours even if you try to insult and discredit the source for it That said, I'm glad you agree with me. Forcibly silencing others is not the way to go about this, giving individuals the ability to filter their own chats is the best solution. I do appreciate that you're helping me spread my idea and supporting it, even if it's in your own odd way.
Oh some of the ones I've seen tonight have been bigger names that are known lol. I'm just going to try and remind myself to start screen capping when that happens to report them to their leader. I don't really have a choice to avoid many guilds due to play orks usually only 1-2 games tops going and usually members of the guilds are in both games X-D I'm sure it's just as bad for eldar.
Silence is worth it's weight in gold........ shit that means it's worth nothing Nah I think a mute button would be a good start since it would allow you to silence players and stuff but honestly I don't see it needed till we get cross team chat all game back.
The trick of it is, they need to give us back globalchat during matches at the same time as giving us the mute buttons/mute commands. Once people are able to filter their own chats, there's no reason to impose restrictions on everyone else to try to accomplish that same goal. I really feel like EC as a lobby shooter is suffering from not having that alltalk option, and especially so if it was actually an MMO; the key to everything is the social bits, and those should be encouraged and even celebrated.
Yea no point in having 1 without the other. This would also make it easier to properly punish people who go overboard with the shit talk as they would more than likely be doing it all game allowing for people to mute/report them on the spot. I would say 3 things would have to come at the same time which is global chat, mute and report. As far as the guilds making groups and stomping the new players into the ground this would be partly addressed with being able to report the players for misconduct which means they'll just stomp and hold their tongues which gives less demoralization to the new players meaning they are easier to retain with just a few words from other players.
