Also the get a team comment implies the enemy will not do the same. So what if you have 2 tacs vs 2 melee...3v3, 4v4....30v30. The ranged will still get wiped more often than not. Were this game open world you can probably outnumber your enemy but in a player capped objective driven game you are kinda always on equal footing for the "bring a friend" argument. Although Id love to see a deathmatch mode with set lives per player and see which team compositions win more often but I suspect it will still be melee comps Edit: my main is JPA and I think ranged needs some help in melee despite probably nerfing my main playstyle
If all you bring is just ranged or just melee, you should loose to a balanced team. 2 melee classes working together works really well against 2 tacs, but it gets wrecked by a shieldbro and a tac. 30 melee classes attacking together just results in them all chain-stunning each other while the ranged classes lob explosives/plasma into them. We tried it, it doesn't work. A balanced team is the key, but that's not what I see. What I see is entire sides taking nothing but devastators and tactical's and then QQ'ing when they get slaughtered after melee specialists manage to get close. Much like a melee-only blob gets slaughtered by a plasmacannon.
why game should provide equal chances averaged on all possible encounters in 1 v 1 if 1 v 1 is rare in a game? Have you thought about that being on par in 1 v 1 may ensure your dominance in 2 v 2 or higher?
I shall make a tactical video for my next one after chaos. Maybe knife and pistol only could be loads of fun !
Because all players should have the same chance against other no matter what gun they choose. But it's alright, I understand most of the people who defend the actual state are just melee players who don't want to be nerfed
So someone with a bolt pistol should have the same chance when engaging someone with a heavy bolter in a long-range fire-fight? Someone with a chain-sword and storm-shield should have the same chance when engaging someone with a plasma-cannon in a long-range fire-fight?
Really ...with this kind of threads im really tempted for a refund. Not for Open world, postponed stuff or endless bugs.Just because of the endless baseless whining.
The 1:1 ratio of melee vs ranged Id say 2 melee are superior but requires more teamwork so they dont stun eachother. Generally in my clan we are advocating that if a friendly is in melee you either flank to the enemies back to one shot them or push forward and lock up any ranged enemies firing at your partner or melee teammates. Very effective with how easy it is to close gaps and lets the melee overpower ranged once they do. My point though is that the game does favor melee in most situations due to level design, ranged weapon lockout on melee hit, gap closers like jetpacks, stuns not being long enough for ranged to even hope to disengage, etc. TBH I dont even know how to make a balanced approach to this because it seems like a hard balancing act
