Too Many Chapters And Warbands.

I think its quite fair to say that you cannot judge something that you havent even seen nor read.
Once you do can you find holes in it. In the Angry Joe video Miguel mentions that Graham himself is tying the stories of these chapters into Arkhonas history, and i have more than enough faith in that man to say that he can make legit reasons for it.

What I'm worried about is this legit reason being extremely weak or far fetched.

Well thats subjective. What you might find far fetched and weak will surely be more then good and plausible for others. So again, outside "wait and see" theres not much to be discussed on this end.
Cause unlike game design/level design and the like story is something we will probably not be introduced to in full till very late if not as late as launch.

So they wouldnt ruin the story by revealing it.
Just like we arent given a rundown of why exactly the Chaos Gods arent present on Arkhona in all their varied cults outside that we were told "the gods havent turned their gaze on Arkhona". And id assume that is also somehow tied into the story surely, but we probably wont know it till launch. (which again contradicts itself when we got blessings/marks confirmed for launch...ah well).

But it effects gameplay decisions like what chapters can be in the game

On the contrary really, i think its the other way around. The chapters chosen are the ones that actually mold the story.
Just like the 4 Chaos legions were probably chosen cause none of them are restricted to a single god thus giving more freedom to the choices of legions not limiting you, and that would probably be the same reason why the cult legions are post launch. And on that they will make the story.

Also the reason Black Templars are not going to be in the game (for now) not because of the story but because of currently unknown problems with GW or someone relating to GW. Cause if it was simply a story element then Miguel would have said so, and not have went "sorry but i cannot discuss this" when elaborating to the Black Templar fans in that thread they have made.

the other are all already deads.
(i'm joking but something in the background probally something like 900-4.000 millions of guardsman are already dead on arkhona)
  7. I hold it with Malarius and would have preffered the Deathwatch over different chapters. First, all of us could have played a member of the chapter we liked most. But of greater concern is the overall appearance of the battles to come: Other than on the picture of Apocalypse shown earlier the members of the different chapters will mix up and don't stick to their chapter brothers (ie. units in 40k tt).

Same concern for CSM, where I had liked a single Renegade Warband more, colours consisting of black and red, so there would have been lots of customization opportunities, but not a really heavy mix of colours. Though Chaos ist better of than the Loyalists are on this, I guess.
Eldar are more colorfull, and as all playable classes are Aspect Warriors bound to their basic colours this will be ok, I hope.
Orcs are... well... I think mostly green with big teeth, so this won't matter for them. :D

In EC most guilds will accept members from all Chapters/Craftworlds/Legions etc, so battle will most likely look like a swirly, higgeldy-piggeldy mess of colours, not like a brutal strike force of badass warriors. To conclude here are my worst fears: The eternal war on Arkhona does not feel that dark and grim but rather colourfull, and all those who screamed loudest for "their" chapter/craftworld" being "in" leave the game for being totally un40Kish without even reflecting why this might be.

In that situation space marines would respond, that's not my problem, it's the only first founding responded.
  9. Grigdusher Grigdusher Arch-Cardinal

because the first founding are the first to arrive, and I suppose the dark angel are the first because they are the First ..

    Oh dear
