Talis had found the berries edible, probably nutritious, and definitely high usability as pigment. Purple ink wasn't usually what he used, but maybe he could if he ran out of his charcoal. Either way he picked a few and placed them in a safe space in one of his satchels, just in case someone got peckish or needed ink. Or something. Either way he moved up next to Avrielle and walked into the cave. He wasn't a stranger to caves, but this one felt odd. Off somehow, and there was a scent in the air that didn't seem to fit. In any case he stayed in the group, and keps his wits about him. However, at the sudden flash of blinding light he abandoned all thoughts as he gripped his sword and pulled it out, making sure that he was situated in front of Avrielle even before his vision returned. And when it did, his jaw went slack. Webway gates, more than he had even seen in his lifetime, all situated in this one area. And another Eldar was now standing there, Talis staring at her and swaying on his feet. He wasn't going to make a move, but he was suddenly put on edge and needed to see what the other Eldar, both newcomer and in his group, reacted before he would do anything much more than guard his friend.
Drawing up his rifle, Faenkon was not taking any chances with the saurid. As alluring as the thought of capturing it was, it posed a significant threat to their group as well as the lone Eldar that showed up. The problem that he currently faced was the fact he had to ensure a clean shot as well as not hitting the stranger.
Maesanai laid the shaft of her power spear flat against her arm, holding it out to her side, tip raised nearly a foot off the ground. Her shock and awe could wait, once she had regained sight she had seen what appeared to be a saurid confronting one of their own, and she could not allow the excitement of the moment to distract her from that. She looked to the woman. "Stay still!" she advised, then stepped closer towards the saurid.
All the pent up aggression, all the anxiousness to pull the trigger and what was inside - a little saurid creature. There was an audible sigh coming out of Vella's helmet, but she didn't lower her launcher, just switching aims from the animal towards the newcomer and the gates powering up and down. Since Maesanai already started talking to the Eldar female, Vella kept her vigilance - maybe another person or a creature would actually arrive in this meeting spot that would have more of a murderous intent than these two present.
"Ambassador" Firnweth stepped further onto realspace, not intent on offending the diminuitive lizard creature, but at the same time, not afraid enough to keep away. A fine beringed hand glid over her face, into her untamable mane as she thought. Mayhaps, so she assumed, it would belong to one of her kin that were approaching through these caverns, in which case it would have been tame anyway; if it weren't, they would certainly help her fight it off. The merchant glanced around to help her re-orient herself, for the change from the immaterial, eternal sea to the corporeal world of statics was always harsh on the senses, even if one was sufficiently prepared and used to it as she was. The issue that she was not exactly where she wanted to be was a problem, but Finn mentally filed it under a lower priority. Right now, the approaching group, and the matter of her general location, seemed more pressing issues. Her hand remained where it was, palm on her forehead, as her red eyes flit about, hopping to the rhythm of her thoughts. When the group moved into sight, a bespeared youngling immediately addressed her - in preparation for impact, Sepestra straightened herself and dusted off her bright orange shawl. "If it is a threat, your voice is a bit too amicable in tone, good lady. Playing against type may be fun at times, but to get ones point across, the established ways are often the most reliable." She smiled at the young Eldarin lady while her eyes openly moved to take her - and her companions - in. "If it is a word of caution... many things are worth fearing, but this little beast reaps no awe from me, I am afraid."
"A daughter of Saim-Hann knows how to instill fear, friend, but I'd rather you weren't hurt!" she retorted, switching off the electrified power field around her spear's blade. "Though I believe you are right to dismiss this little one," she conceded, regarding the saurid. "I would still advise against being too overconfident, little beasts' bites can be fouler than the big ones'," she reminded the "Ambassador". Stepping forwards carefully, she kept one eye on the beast and one on the woman, extending her open palm towards her in a show of good faith, before she took a playful bow. "Maesanai, of Saim-Hann's honored clan Skyblood," she announced, standing up and gesturing back to her companions. "And these are my companions. Faenkon is our guide and leader," she explained, indicating the Ranger.
< @Casavay @Jorimel > Talis looked between the Saurid and the new Eldar, cocking his head in thought. The Lizard didn't seem to be of any kind that he recognized, and his free hand twitched as he felt the urge to compare notes from his notebook to the beast to try and work something about it out. But now wasn't the time. He lowered his sword as Mae began to introduce the team, but stayed between the newcomers and Avrielle. "Talis Andoran, Exodite. I'm here as..." he trailed off in his introduction, unsure what he actually was in the group as yet. Nevertheless he smiles at the newcomer, hoping to give off his friendly vibe.
When Onvar entered the cave, he was ready to fight at any time. He had entered a state of mind he himself called "The edge of the sword", he could feel his warmask brushing over his psyche, ready to overtake him and make him a ruthless murderer, but he also was still able to ascertain situations clearly. Such was needed when a sudden light filled the cave, revealing a small saurid, and shortly after, a fellow Eldar, seemingly as suprised as himself. If it wasn't for his self-control, Onvar would probably have killed the saurid on sight. Onvar was about to continue scouring the room, when the one called Maesanai Skyblood initiated an introduction. Certainly a nice thought, but Onvar personally found it to be strategically more important to secure the surroundings. He spoke anyways. "Onvar Aragleath, from proud Biel-Tan. While introductions are in order, let us postpone the grand formalities for when this cave is secured. Maesanai, shall we leave our visitor to you?" He looked over to Talis, noticing his positioning towards the Radiotech. Ah, so that is how it is? He would have chuckled, if it wasn't for his current state of mind. "You two can stay with them. Maybe you could keep an eye on this little specimen." He nodded towards the seemingly harmless saurus. Even if it wasn't harmless after Maesanais display this morning he believed she would be able to handle it.
"Well met, Maesanai daughter of Skyblood clan of Saim-Hann", responded Firnweth with a smile and a bow of her own, coming dangerously close to the little scaled creature in the process. "I have heard the name before, though story of your kin eludes me - for this, I apologise", she continued jokingly, her deep, mirthful voice and slow manner of speaking filling out the cave with a certain brand of warmth. "And greetings to Faenkon the traveller and leader." She inclined her head, but did not bow again. "Well met, Talis Andoran, son of the untouched paradises, as well." There was a thoughtful gleam in her red eyes as they narrowed. Meanwhile, Sepestra paused, and listened to Onvar introduce himself. "If no hag stole your breath, would listen to your introduction, Talis Andoran - but something tells me you would prefer to be introduced, no?" She could not help but laugh briefly - restrainedly, for her, though certainly an impoliteness - when hearing that she had met a Biel-Tanite. "Hah... met, Onvar Aragleath, and I hope it will be well, too." Firnweth elected to wave. Finally done with responding to introductions, the richly-dressed lady put a hand on her chest, showing off the radiantly glimmering iridescence of her bracelet and puffing herself up slightly with obvious pride - though those who cared to watch would see just as much irony in her gesture and tone as genuine love of the act. "I am Ambassador Firnweth Sepestra of the Aether Stars, wife to Prince Enuriael the Gilded of the same." Her lips split into something of a sardonic smile, revealing pearly white teeth. "I cannot say I have been bitten often, so I will defer to your experience", she then concluded with mind to Maesanai's warnings, but showed no signs of doing so.
Maesanai flashed the richly dressed woman an endeared grin, clearly more than ready to forgive her ignorance. While Firnweth spoke to the others, the Corsair crossed the room towards the saurid between them, attempting to approach it carefully and exude a certain calm. Though, she kept her spear on hand and ready, in case of it was agitated by her attempt to make peace. On one hand, it was a wild beast, but on the other hand, it may not be accustomed to Eldar at all. She sat down on her haunches. "Talis, did you keep any of that breakfast?" she wondered aloud. "I am Ambassador Firnweth Sepestra of the Aether Stars, wife to Prince Enuriael the Gilded of the same," the richly dressed woman declared, which was enough to draw the Corsair's eye off her task and back up at the woman, momentarily forgetting the beast before her. A Prince's wife! she thought, perhaps outright gawking at that. "What are you doing here?" she blurted out. "By yourself. Pardon me," she awkwardly corrected herself.
