Lysandriax smiled back broadly, regarding the Ranger over her cup of tea for a moment before sipping a mouthful. It was warming and refreshing, a good choice by the young Craftworld radiotech - perhaps one Talis had recommended?

"I look forward to seeing what you bring," she said, raising her hand in a gesture that meant 'good hunting'.

Faenkon could easily slip into the slight forest surrounding this end of the lake, for it was neither dense nor well-grown in the thin mountain soil. But he could see some tracks of a larger beast or two within the scant cover. They were not recent - perhaps three days old - but they did show that larger prey might lurk here. Or hunt here. The prints were of quadruped, with wide paws, five toes on each, with the faint brush of fur between the toes. He couldn't find any scat or loose fur, so whatever it was had either passed this way but briefly, or was smart enough to bury its waste.

Faenkon examined the prints in order to determine the best direction to search. The drone silently captured images and moved throughout the area in search of similar signs. Once Faenkon was satisfied, he began his search anew, he was eager to track down the beast. He was also maintaining his vigilance in case he became the hunted. He silently stalked the tracks, eyes and ears alert to his surroundings.

With any luck it wouldn't take him long to find his quarry. Or perhaps he would find a hint to this planet's exodite population. He was glad to be away from the others, even if for only a short time. The bickering from the previous day reminded him why he preferred the path. Petty arguments, refusal to see other paths or ways of life. When he was alone the pettiness seemed to melt away, as if it never was there.

Alo had gone too far last night. He stared at his helmets' eyes, running a thumb over its surface pondering how to keep his thoughts in check in the future. The way Yarelis' music had put him at ease had been a tremendous help, how little its effect would seem to someone else.
He hadn't played music since one of his violent outburst back home. That had been years ago.
It'd be about time to again pick up the instruments of music, he didn't want to forget it again.

"Do we possess tools of any kind? I just had an idea."
Alo said as he stood up, to anyone who was listening. His usual edge had returned to his manner, his words were spoken quick and somewhat loudly for a speaking volume.

Maybe that ranger finds anything resembling civilization, locals should have at least something.- Alo thought to himself, looking toward the direction Faenkon had stalked.

Yareli was up for a while, one shouldn't be confused with one joining the group versus one looking for someone else out. She had watched Iktomi sleep for quite some time. How long, who knew? But her eyes were fixed on his sleeping figure while she herself laid nearby. Not expecting the sleeping prince to rise anytime soon, she rose from her position. Due to the situation she had no other option but sleep in her robes which got straightened a bit out. Without even bothering with a mirror she fixed her hair by good measure and to make sure it is as little frizzy as possible, she tied it together in a ponytail, letting her long hair fall over her back.

The Noblewoman stepped out of The Chance and stretched her arms and legs a little. She saw the group all about already and decided to join them. Without word but the gesture for 'good morning', she took a place somewhere in the middle of the group, nowhere particular - letting the refreshing winds nurture her and help her completely awake.
  5. @Uriel1339 | Astarielle watched Faenkon disappear into the trees with vague disinterest before turning back to the campfire as Alo spoke and Yareli made her appearance, still waiting for Iktomi to make his appearance.
"Good morning. You slept well after last night?"

Yareli gave a deep thoughtful nod, putting a finger on her lips, thinking of formulating her answer. "I was awaiting the awakening of our Felarch. Alas he seems to have become a rock." The Noblewoman offered a warm smile.

Avrielle spoke up, replying to Alo cautiously. It was plain that she was not sure which way the seemingly volatile Dire Avenger might jump. But her natural friendliness won out.

"I have some tools ... what kind do you need?" She glanced at Talis, who was busy tending the fire, but he did not say anything. The young Exodite did look somewhat rested, but he remained reserved. "I work with electronics sometimes," the radiotech elaborated, "and - well, I have some repair skill. What do you need to make?"

"I slept very well," Lysandriax answered Astarielle with a bright smile, passing one some of the pollen-cakes. "These are really good. You must tell me the recipe," she said, nodding to Talis. The youth avoided looking anywhere lower than her shoulderline, just in case, his modest way of living definitely not that of the Corsair. "And yourself? Ready to take on the challenge of the day?" she asked Astarielle in return.

In the small forest away from the camp, Faenkon and his drone moved along, both in near silence. It relayed the images back to its companion, and Faenkon's Eldar senses watched the paths it did not.

Sudden silence alerted him first. The little background noises vanished. The forest held its breath. Then, behind him, he heard a soft growl.

The crag cat is about the size of a puma, and it has sharp claws and, in addition to this, a large gape - it has evolved to attack Exodite dinosaurs. It has large sabre teeth. At present it is crouched, as if ready to attack, but has not yet done so.

A smile crept across his face, it seemed that the big cat sensed him. He guessed that it hadn't attacked yet due to its inability to see him thanks to the cameoline cloak. The drone hovered away from Faenkon in an attempt to draw the large cats attention. Once he had a shot where he estimated its heart to be he pulled the trigger....

Iktomi had spent most of the night looking for their exodite companion, with the hopes of challenging him to a duel, to no avail. After a few swings of his saber through trees, Iktomi certain it would draw something's attention before too long. Once his orbo has worked it's way out of his system, Iktomi returned to the Chance exhausted and ready for the dreams that awaited him.
'Maybe I'll see the indigo sky and the bloody field again. Or maybe a familiar face, old, and beaten. May the mother be kind and the crone merciful.' The Felarch thought.
After removing his great coat, shirt and hat, Iktomi fell into sleep and let the darkness take him.

It was Biel-Tan, glorious and cruel. Sons gathered around a dying father, one last word for each of them in turn. "When did you loose your path?" The question burned into memeory and bleeding into the subconscious. Then the screaming of blade on blade, Iktomi young and full of range against one in full Warp Spider armor. The only thing to show their resemblance was the same dark crimson hair. Then came the same, loosing an eye to one he had once called brother. "You will never change. You're fate is sealed, without honor or hope of redemption. Never return here, unless you learn your place. Or you'll loose more than your eye." The scene fades, with Iktomi clutching his face as he once did. The pain so real, it almost eclipsed his shame and dulled his hate. And then it was over.

Awake, Iadanna Iktomi found himself not alone. At least, for the moment. Yareli was with him. Had he entered her room or she his? Did it really matter? She was waiting for him and once again he had left her side. 'Shameful Iktomi, will I ever change?' He thought.
Rising with some difficulty, the Felarch retrieved his effects. Coat and shirt, but only putting on his hat. Exiting the Chance, Iktomi was once again welcomed to the smell of hot food and refreshments. Taking a cup of tea with a smile, Iktomi gave Avrielle a nod of approval. "As usual Avrielle, can you do nothing wrong?" Smiling, Iktomi finish the tea off in a quick chug. Theowing his coat and shirt down near the edge of the lake.
With a sudden splash of his hands, Iktomi cupped the cold water and let it meet his face. The water dripped onto his chest and from his dyed dark hair. "Aaah! Brisk! Have we finally decided to abandon camp and set out on this mission proper?" Iktomi said aloud for all to answer. Only then taking notice of Lysandriax and the absense of Morvan. "Guess I'm not the only one full of surprises."
    @Uriel1339
Once clean and ready, Iktomi redressed and joined those gathered outside the Chance.
"So my fine fellow friendly adventurers. When do we set out? I take offense to all this waiting and rusting. My eyes crave wonder and my blade requires enemies." Turning to Yareli, Iktomi winks slyly. "Beloved. How is your arm fairing? The witch way is... not without it's risks, but it will put me at ease knowing you're well."

  10. @Jorimel | Accepting the pollen-cake, thanking both Lysandriax and Talis, Astarielle turned her attention to the other woman. Unlike the shy Exodite Astarielle looked over the body the corsair lifestyle had given Lysandriax before glancing out over the lake.
"I am. With any luck we'll make it further than yesterday, once everyone is up and ready."
Her view was interrupted when Iktomi walked across it, clothed only from the waist down, and the Biel-tani watched her fellow Craftworlder, mildly disappointed that he wasn't as exuberant as Faenkon had made out.
